  • Dominic Smith DH | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Sits versus lefty

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

After sitting out the second half of Saturday's doubleheader, the lefty-hitting Smith will remain on the bench for Sunday's series finale with a southpaw (Patrick Corbin) on the hill for Washington. Smith has actually been more productive against left-handed pitching (.316 wOBA, 105 wRC+ in 52 plate appearances) than right-handed pitching (.296 wOBA, 92 wRC+ in 181 plate appearances) this season.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Slugs another homer

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 7-5 win over Cincinnati.

The infielder has knocked two homers and added a pair of doubles in his last four games. Cronenworth's recent solid hitting has his slash line at .276/.343/.429 through 299 plate appearances. He's added eight homers, 24 RBI, 46 runs scored and three stolen bases. The 27-year-old is only striking out at a 14.0 percent rate, while his walk rate stands at 8.0 percent, so he should be able to sustain his solid hitting.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Three hits in big win

Bohm went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's 13-6 win over the Giants,

All three knocks were singles, but it was still a productive day for the sophomore third baseman. Bohm is making plenty of contact in June, batting .360 (18-for-50) through 14 games with seven RBI and nine runs, but he has only one double over that stretch and is looking for his first homer since May 6.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Goes yard twice in win

Hoskins went 3-for-6 with a double, two home runs and six RBI in Saturday's 13-6 win over the Giants.

The 28-year-old slugger had been mired in a slump, batting .083 (4-for-48) with just one homer over his prior 12 games, but Hoskins erupted in San Francisco, taking Alex Wood deep in the second inning and Conner Menez in the seventh. Hoskins is hitting .240 with 15 homers and 42 RBI through 68 contests on the year.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Not starting Saturday

Cron isn't starting Saturday's game against the Brewers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Cron hit a grand slam Thursday and delivered a walkoff single in extra innings Friday, but he'll get a breather following eight consecutive starts. Joshua Fuentes will take over at first base and bat seventh.

  • Dominic Smith DH | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: On bench for nightcap

Smith will sit for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Smith sits after going 0-for-3 in the afternoon contest. Brandon Drury gets the start in left field for the nightcap.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: On bench Saturday

Flores is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

The veteran receives the day off following a 1-for-4 effort in Friday's contest. Flores may be called upon to pinch hit, though, after he homered in that role Wednesday. Lefty-hitting Jason Vosler starts at third for the Giants' matchup against righty Aaron Nola.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Gets rest Friday

Solano is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Phillies, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Solano enters Friday on a five-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 7-for-21 with three doubles, four RBI and four runs scored. He'll get a breather to begin Friday's game but figures to be a top option for manager Gabe Kapler off the bench. Wilmer Flores will shift to second base as Jason Vosler mans the hot corner.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: On bench versus lefty

Bell is not in the lineup Friday against the Mets.

Bell has an .887 OPS through 13 games in June and will take a seat Friday with lefty Joey Lucchesi pitching for New York. Ryan Zimmerman will start at first base in his place.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Knocks in two

Walker went 0-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 10-3 loss to San Francisco.

Walker benefitted from hitting behind Eduardo Escobar, who had two extra-base hits and put men in scoring position for him. He was able get runners home with productive outs. Walker's driven in seven runs over the last nine games but a .571 OPS this season is a major disappointment.
