  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Goes yard against southpaw

Flores went 1-for-4 with his 10th home run Monday in San Diego.

Flores came into this one with a .522 slugging percentage against left-handed pitching, so it's not surprising that he found success against starter Clayton Richard. His ability to move all around the infield defensively has been crucial for a New York team that's been hit hard by the injury bug, and it certainly helps that the 25-year-old can handle himself at the plate to boot. Flores has now hit double-digit home runs in three consecutive campaigns, as he launched 16 in each of the past two seasons.

Marlins' Justin Bour: Will likely require DL stint

Manager Don Mattingly reported Monday that Bour (oblique) will likely soon be placed on the 10-day disabled list, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Bour exited Monday's contest with a strained right oblique. It's currently unclear exactly how much time he'll miss, but the slugging first baseman will be sidelined for at least the next 10 days, if not more. Tyler Moore projects to fill in at first base in his absence. An official announcement on Bour's status will likely come Tuesday.

Marlins' Justin Bour: Suffers oblique strain Monday

Bour exited Monday's game against the Rangers with a right oblique strain.

Bour opened the game as the Marlins' designated hitter, but he was lifted from the contest after grounding into a double play during his first at-bat. An oblique strain typically results in a trip to the disabled list, but the team is listing the power-hitting first baseman as day-to-day for the time being.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Post-break slump continues

Votto went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday's win over the Marlins. He went 4-for-33 (albeit with seven walks) over the Reds' 10-game homestand, the Dayton Daily News reports.

Votto has gone through similar slumps (the first half of 2016 comes to mind), but he always seems to find a way to come through. Barring news of an injury, there's little reason for owners to worry here.

  • Mets' Asdrubal Cabrera: Out of lineup Sunday

Cabrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the A's, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera drew a start at third base Saturday, but had previously started eight consecutive games at the keystone. He'll break that streak Sunday, while T.J. Rivera draws the start at second base with Wilmer Flores at third.

  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Hits game-winning homer

Flores went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored during Saturday's win over Oakland.

With the Mets healthy, Flores has reverted back to a part-time role. It's unfortunate because he's been solid when in the lineup and sports a serviceable .284/.312/.473 slash line. Without more consistent playing time, Flores' upside is capped, and he's best left to deep-league settings.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Gets day off Saturday

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Daniel Descalso will take over at first base and Chris Iannetta will bat cleanup with Goldschmidt getting the day off. There's no indication of a possible injury for Goldschmidt, so this is likely just a routine rest day after he racked up eight strikeouts in his last three games. Look for Goldschmidt to draw back in for Sunday's series finale against Stephen Strasburg.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Clubs 18th home run Friday

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

The home run was his second in eight games since the All-Star break and 18th of the year in just 51 games. Freeman got the start at first base Friday and is sitting on nine games played at third base, which likely has fantasy GMs in leagues with a 10-game threshold hoping that the Braves hold off just a little longer on trading away Matt Adams.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Enduring rough three-game stretch

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two strikeouts in Friday's 6-5 win over the Nationals.

With two hits and eight strikeouts over the last three games, Goldschmidt seems to be pressing of late at the dish, but his sterling track record suggests he'll be able to turn it around before long. Fortunately for the Diamondbacks, they've remained effective as an offensive unit even as their top player has struggled, as Arizona has won two of those three contests while producing 21 runs.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Pirates' Josh Bell: Homer short of cycle Friday

Bell went 4-for-6 with a double, a triple, a run scored and four RBI in Friday's 13-5 win over the Rockies.

The 24-year-old greatly enjoyed his first game in Coors Field, as so many have before him. He now has a .333/.375/.567 slash line with a home run and eight RBI in eight games since the All-Star break, and with the Pirates' offense back at full strength following the return of Starling Marte, Bell should see plenty of run-producing opportunities down the stretch.
