GM Matt Klentak said Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez will get an opportunity to compete for a job this spring if he is healthy, the Philadelphia Phillies' official site reports.Gonzalez missed most of last season with shoulder issues. He is currently pitching in the Venezuelan winter league where he is 0-4 with a 4.88 ERA and a 19:10 K:BB ratio in 27.2 innings. The Phillies could give him a look as a starter or a reliever.
