Angels' Jose Soriano: MRI returns clean
Jose Soriano had an MRI after experiencing discomfort in his pitching elbow and shoulder, and the results came back clean, per MLB.com.Soriano's placement on the injured list in mid-August was said to be due to right arm fatigue, and the Los Angeles Angels organization has indicated that the hurler isn't dealing with a serious injury. The clean results of the MRI seem to back that up, though the right-hander's transfer to the 60-day IL on Sept. 7 officially ended his 2024 season. Unless he has a setback, Soriano should be ready for spring training in 2025.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Return this season uncertain
Los Angeles Angels general manager Perry Minasian said last weekend that the the team hasn't yet decided if Jose Soriano (arm) will be shut down from pitching this season, per MLB.com.Soriano said when he was placed on the IL following his Aug. 16 start that he doesn't believe he's dealing with a serious injury, and there's been no evidence to contradict that assessment. However, the right-hander has already blown past his previous professional high of 82.1 innings by tossing 113 frames this season and indicated that he was feeling arm fatigue before landing on the injured list. The Angels, who are well out of the playoff race, may opt to play it safe and keep him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign. Soriano figures to be a key part of the team's starting rotation next year regardless of whether he returns to action in 2024.

Angels' Jose Soriano: Dealing with arm fatigue
The Los Angeles Angels placed Jose Soriano on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right arm fatigue, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.Soriano experienced decreased velocity in Friday's start against Atlanta and was removed after 3.1 innings. The 25-year-old transitioned to a starting role over the offseason and has thrown 113 innings in 2024, by far his highest inning total since entering the professional ranks in 2017. With the Angels not serious playoff contenders, the team shouldn't be expected to push Soriano along in his recovery. Jose Cisnero (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
