Marlins' Roddery Munoz: Can't keep ball down
Roddery Munoz allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 1.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.Munoz had given up eight homers over his last six starts, so a visit to the thin air of Colorado was a recipe for disaster. He gave up back-to-back home runs to begin the first inning and then allowed another in the second. The Miami Marlins' ninth-inning rally spared him the loss, but Munoz continues to look overmatched in the majors. He's allowed at least three runs in five straight starts and now has a 6.53 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 70:42 K:BB through 82.2 innings over 18 appearances (17 starts) this season. He's also given up 26 homers, making him one of two pitchers this year to have allowed 20 or more long balls in fewer than 100 innings, along with Cleveland's Logan Allen. Munoz is tentatively projected to make his next start at San Francisco.
