  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Retreats to bench

Marte isn't starting Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Marte had drawn starts in each of the last nine games, but he'll get a breather after he went 2-for-11 with a triple, a run and an RBI across his last three appearances. Daulton Varsho will start in center field and bat fifth.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: On bench Wednesday

Rodgers isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Rodgers started each of the last five games and went 6-for-21 with a double, two runs, an RBI and a walk. Alan Trejo will take his place at the keystone and bat seventh.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Swinging hot stick

Rojas went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

It took a string of six at-bats without a hit for Rojas to acclimate following downtime due to a dislocated finger, but the infielder's bat is cooking right now. He has 13 hits in the 19 at-bats (.684) with six extra-base hits and five RBI over the last five games. He's sharing second base with Josh VanMeter but started at shortstop Tuesday. Both of those versatile infielders are hitting, which could lead to more time at short for Rojas, ahead of Nick Ahmed.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Returns from injured list

Lux (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and will start at third base against the Pirates.

Lux appeared in seven games for Triple-A Oklahoma City during his rehab assignment over the past week, and he'll rejoin the lineup versus Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old was locked into an everyday role before going down with the hamstring injury in mid-July, and he now appears to be the odd man out in the infield with Corey Seager healthy and Trea Turner joining the mix at the trade deadline. It will be Lux's first start at third base in the majors and indicates the Dodgers will try him out in a utility role. However, he's unlikely to be a reliable asset for fantasy managers while third baseman Justin Turner, Seager and Trea Turner remain healthy.

  • Alan Trejo SS | COL

Rockies' Alan Trejo: Recalled by Rockies

Trejo was called up by Colorado on Tuesday.

Trejo made his big-league debut earlier this season but didn't do much in his 45 trips to the plate, hitting .244/.289/.366. He'll give the Rockies an extra bench bat, with Austin Gomber hitting the paternity list.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Pops fourth homer

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 12-2 loss to Atlanta.

He took Touki Toussaint deep in the second inning to give Miami a 2-1 lead, but the game was all Atlanta after that. Diaz has been in the lineup fairly regularly throughout August and hasn't squandered the opportunities, slashing .268/.302/.488 through 43 plate appearances with two of his four homers on the year.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: On base four times in big win

Albies went 3-for-5 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI in Monday's 12-2 rout of the Marlins.

The second baseman remains locked in at the plate and extended his hitting streak to six games, a stretch during which he's batting .393 (11-for-28) with four homers, two steals, eight runs and 11 RBI. Albies has run hot and cold all season, resulting in a .263/.326/.498 slash line, but he's tied his career high with 15 stolen bases. With 22 homers and 83 RBI, he sits two long balls and three RBI shy of tying his career-best marks in those categories as well.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Plates five runs Monday

India went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, five RBI, two runs and a strikeout in Monday's 14-5 win over the Cubs.

India has recorded three hits in each of the last two games, and he came within a triple of hitting for the cycle in Monday's blowout win. The 24-year-old has three multi-hit appearances in his last five starts, and he's gone 8-for-23 with three home runs, two doubles, seven runs and seven RBI during that time.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Set to take swings Tuesday

Hoerner (oblique) went through fielding drills Monday and is slated to hit in the cage Tuesday, per manager David Ross.

This comes on the heels of Hoerner resuming baseball activities earlier this month, so the infielder is making steady progress as he attempts to return from a right oblique strain he suffered July 29. However, with the Cubs not in playoff contention, they figure to take things slowly with the 24-year-old in an effort to make sure he's fully healthy heading into the 2022 season.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Homers, doubles in loss

Rojas went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Padres.

Rojas homered in the fifth inning off Pierce Johnson, cutting the Diamondbacks' deficit to two runs. Over his last three games, he is 10-for-15 with four extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs scored. On the season, he is slashing .281/.366/.464 with 11 long balls, 32 RBI, 54 runs and seven steals in 385 plate appearances.
