  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Connects on two-run shot

Drury went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Rockies.

Drury picked up his second start of the three-game series Sunday, which was somewhat surprising given that the Rockies brought a right-hander (German Marquez) to the hill. Daniel Descalso has been occupying the larger portion of the platoon at second base lately, but his offensive struggles since the beginning of September may have opened the door for Drury to stake his claim to a larger role.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Goes deep for fifth time in 2017

Marte went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Rockies.

Though the home run was Marte's first since July 29, he hasn't seen his slugging percentage dip much as a result, as his .429 mark is still far and away a career best. Fantasy owners were probably expecting more stolen-base production from Marte since he's settled into an everyday role, but with a .265 average, five home runs and 20 runs in 168 plate appearances this season, the shortstop produces enough all-around value to warrant a roster spot in most deeper mixed leagues.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Sitting out Monday

Rosario (finger) is out of the lineup Monday against the Phillies.

Rosario, who was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros, is only dealing with a bruise on his right index finger after X-rays came back negative. As such, the Mets are viewing him as day-to-day and don't believe he'll need more than a few days to heal up. Jose Reyes will fill in for the rookie at shortstop in the series opener Monday while Gavin Cecchini enters the lineup to occupy Reyes' normal spot at second base.

Mets' Amed Rosario: X-rays negative on injured finger

Rosario was removed late in Sunday's game after a finger he injured Saturday swelled up, but X-rays taken on the digit after the game were negative, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The young shortstop injured his right index finger on a swing in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader and was held out for the second game, but he seemed healthy enough to return to the lineup Sunday. With the Mets having nothing to play for this year expect them to be cautious with Rosario, but the encouraging X-ray results suggest he may only need to sit for another game or two while he waits for the swelling to subside.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Settling into two hole

Albies will start at second base and bat second Sunday against the Cubs.

The recent trade of Brandon Phillips to the Angels has opened up a regular spot for Albies in the two hole, as Sunday will mark his fourth straight contest in that position in the batting order. He's certainly proven worthy of that appointment thus far, going 5-for-10 with four walks and two runs in the past three games.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Could return within week

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Sunday that Frazier (hamstring) could come off the 10-day disabled list within the next week, Jonathan Bombulie of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

It's unclear if Frazier has resumed full baseball activities just yet, but Hurdle's comments nonetheless suggest that the right hamstring injury the utility man suffered last week isn't anything that will keep him sidelined for long. Gregory Polanco (hamstring) is on a similar recovery timeline as Frazier and should immediately settle back in as the club's primary right fielder, but regular at-bats could be open for Frazier at the keystone with the team placing Josh Harrison on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a fractured left hand.

  • Pirates' Chris Bostick: Called up from Triple-A

Bostick was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday.

Bostick will provide the Pirates with extra infield depth following the placement of Josh Harrison (broken hand) on the DL. The 24-year-old is hitless in for major-league at-bats this season, but sports a .779 OPS at the minor-league level. Both Bostick and Max Moroff should see chances in the infield, though Sean Rodriguez is seemingly the main candidate to pick up reps left behind by Harrison.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Scores twice Saturday

Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Rockies.

With catcher Chris Iannetta receiving the day off, Marte moved into the two hole and was able to do his part in sparking the lineup, coming around to score on both of J.D. Martinez's hits on the night. Marte has previously been serving as the Diamondbacks' seventh or eighth hitter when most of the team's regulars are in the lineup, so his run-scoring opportunities will most likely diminish in subsequent contests.

  • Padres' Yangervis Solarte: Sits out nightcap

Solarte is not in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

His lone hit in five trips to the plate during the matinee was a walkoff homer against Pedro Baez. Solarte hasn't done much else of note since his return from an oblique injury in late July, but he should continue to serve as the primary shortstop and bat near the middle of the order over the remainder of the season.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Out for second game of doubleheader

Rosario is not in the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Astros, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Matt Reynolds will take over at short for Rosario, who went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the matinee. Rosario got off to a slow start in August, but he hit .275 (19-for-69) with four homers and three steals in 19 games to close out his first month in the big leagues.
