Philadelphia Phillies starter Aaron Harang (6-15) surrendered seven hits, two earned runs and two walks in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over the Marlins. He struck out three. Harang turned in his strongest start since an Aug. 22 outing against these same Marlins in which he coincidentally also gave up two earned runs over seven frames. His 2-0 record against Miami notwithstanding, Harang has scuffled to a 4-15 record against the rest of his 2015 opponents and has given up at least one gopher ball in eight of his nine last starts.

Philadelphia Phillies starter Aaron Harang was given a five-run lead, but wasn't able to make it last Thursday against the Mets. The veteran right hander wound up allowing five runs on nine hits over six innings. He walked three and did not record a strike out. The Phillies scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to grab a 5-0 lead. But Harang sturggled to keep the ball in the park. He gave up a two-run home run to Travis d'Arnaud in the fourth inning. Then he allowed another two-run shot to Yoenis Cespedes and a solo homer to Kelly Johnson to tie the game in the fifth. The Mets went on to win the game 9-5 in 13 innings. Harang was coming off one of his best starts of the season his last time out when he allowed two runs over seven innings against the Marlins. Still, he ends August going 0-3 with an unsightly 8.04 ERA in five starts.

Phillies SP Aaron Harang posts strong outing vs. Marlins
Philadelphia Phillies veteran right-hander Aaron Harang broke a string of poor performances with a terrific outing against the Marlins on Saturday. Harang allowed two runs on two hits over seven innings. His command was a little off, as he walked four and struck out three, but he did a good job of limiting the damage to just two runs. Harang did not factor in the final decision, as the Phillies rallied late to grab the 4-2 win and get Harang off the hook. Both runs Harang allowed came in the third inning, but he was solid the rest of the way. Harang entered the game with a whopping 10.80 ERA over his previous three starts, so this was a much-needed bounceback for the 37-year-old veteran.

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Harang was not sharp in his start against the Dodgers on Wednesday. The veteran Harang allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings. He struggled with his control in this one, as he walked five batters and struck out just one. He threw 104 pitches in his five innings, with 63 going for strikes in the 4-3 loss. Harang (5-12, 4.11 ERA) got off to a bad start against one of his former clubs. He allowed a three-run home run to Yasiel Puig in the very first inning. Another run scored in the fifth, giving Harang his ninth loss in his past 10 starts.
