Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Role declining
Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Even with Alec Bohm (hamstring) recently landing on the injured list, Sosa hasn't been able to recapture an everyday role at the corner spot opposite Kody Clemens. Drew Ellis has instead emerged as the Phillies' preferred third baseman, but both he and Sosa will take a seat Wednesday while Josh Harrison mans the hot corner.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Swats two-run homer
Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
Arenado opened up the scoring in the first with a two-run blast to left-center field to give the Cardinals an early lead. The 32-year-old now has four extra-base hits and six RBI over his last six games and owns an impressive 2:1 BB:K over that span. For the year, the seven-time All-Star is slashing .263/.312/.448 with 11 homers, 41 RBI, 28 runs and a 17:48 BB:K over 253 plate appearances.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Gets first start at shortstop
De La Cruz is batting cleanup and hitting fourth versus the Dodgers on Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks in his MLB debut against the Dodgers on Tuesday while playing third base, and he'll handle shortstop duties versus Noah Syndergaard and Los Angeles on Wednesday. Kevin Newman is playing third base and hitting eighth with Matt McLain lined up as the designated hitter while batting second.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Gets fifth straight start
Rivera will start at third base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Rivera will stick in the lineup for the fifth game in a row after going 5-for-14 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI across the prior four contests. Though Rivera should be a mainstay in the lineup against southpaws, he's seen an uptick in opportunities versus right-handed pitching lately thanks to Christian Walker missing a start due to an illness and Lourdes Gurriel having now sat out three games in a row with groin tightness.

Eguy Rosario 3B | SD
Padres' Eguy Rosario: Set for rehab games
Rosario (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A El Paso.
Rosario suffered a broken ankle while doing offseason sprinting drills and underwent surgery before the start of spring training, but he has been cleared again for live games and could be a consideration for the Padres within the next few weeks. The young infielder registered an impressive .876 OPS with 22 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 124 games last year at the Triple-A level.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Playing first base Tuesday
Newman is starting at first base and batting seventh Tuesday against the Dodgers.
Newman might get dinged a bit on playing time with the arrival of top prospect Elly De La Cruz, but the Reds will keep the veteran infielder in the mix Tuesday versus the Dodgers and right-hander Tony Gonsolin. De La Cruz is at third base in his MLB debut. Spencer Steer will play left field.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Batting cleanup in debut
De La Cruz is playing third base and batting cleanup in his MLB debut Tuesday versus the Dodgers.
De La Cruz jumps right into a prominent spot in the Reds' lineup following his official promotion Tuesday afternoon from Triple-A Louisville, where he had registered a sparkling 1.031 OPS with 12 home runs and 11 stolen bases through 38 games. The dynamic 21-year-old top prospect can also play shortstop, but Matt McLain has locked down that gig since earning his own call-up in mid-May. Beyond third and short, De La Cruz should also be an option in the DH role for Cincinnati.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Lands on IL with knee injury
Senzel was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right knee irritation, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Senzel missed one game last week and another this week with the injury, and the Reds have decided to give him a little down time. He will be eligible for activation June 16, but whether he will be ready to roll at that time remains to be seen. Top prospect Elly De La Cruz is up to take Senzel's spot on the roster.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Promoted to majors
Cincinnati recalled De La Cruz from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
One of the top overall prospects in baseball and absolutely dripping with multi-category fantasy upside, De La Cruz is set to make his major-league debut in the Reds' series opener Tuesday with the visiting Dodgers. The 21-year-old switch-hitting infielder was sporting a robust .298/.398/.633 batting line with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 38 runs scored through 38 games (186 plate appearances) this season at the Triple-A level. He tallied 28 homers and 47 steals in 121 games last year between High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga. There are issues with strikeouts, but the sky is the limit on De La Cruz's long-term potential as a new era of Reds baseball begins.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Tallies three hits, three runs
Machado went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in Monday's 5-0 win against the Cubs.
Machado entered the game having gone just 1-for-11 since returning from the injured list Friday, but he was able to collect a trio of base knocks that led to three of San Diego's five runs. It was his fourth three-hit performance of the season, though the third baseman has struggled on the whole with a .234/.285/.368 slash line. The most glaring missing component of his season has been power -- Machado has gone deep just once over his past 17 contests and only five times overall after totaling 60 long balls across the previous two campaigns.
