  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Suffers ankle sprain

Senzel exited Sunday's game versus the Indians with a right ankle sprain.

Senzel sustained the injury while attempting to make a catch at the wall during the first inning Sunday. The severity of the sprain remains unclear, but the 24-year-old will have the next four days to aid in his recovery thanks to the All-Star break.

Reds' Nick Senzel: Exits Sunday's contest

Senzel was removed from Sunday's game against the Indians with an apparent right leg injury, John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Senzel collided with the outfield wall during the first inning Sunday and was unable to remain in the game. The 24-year-old initially stayed in and walked in the bottom of the frame, but he was removed prior to the second inning. The specifics of the injury should be revealed as he is further evaluated.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Remains out of lineup

Davis (illness) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Davis has been battling an illness over the last few days but appeared as a pinch hitter in each of the past two games. The 26-year-old apparently lost some weight as a result of the illness, so it's no surprise he's been eased back into action by the Mets. Davis seems likely to be available off the bench again Sunday.

  • Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL

Marlins' Yadiel Rivera: Getting second straight start

Rivera will start at third base and bat seventh Sunday against the Braves, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rivera will draw a second straight start as the Marlins wrap up their series in Atlanta, but he's done little to make a case for receiving regular action once the second half begins. Since being recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on June 14, Rivera has gone 5-for-34 with 13 strikeouts.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Remains out Sunday

Anderson (elbow) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Anderson will be held out of the lineup for the fifth straight game after suffering a right elbow bruise in Tuesday's contest. The fact the 25-year-old hasn't been placed on the injured list gives the indication it's a minor issue, especially since he's appeared as a pinch hitter multiple times.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Breaks hitless streak with home run

Moustakas went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 12-2 loss to the Pirates on Saturday.

Prior to Saturday, the last hit Moustakas had was also a homer, but that was Tuesday. He came into the night having gone 0-for-13 in his last three contests. Moustakas has been struggling since the end of June, going 6-for-41 (.146) in his last 10 games. Overall, he's batting .263 with 25 home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs and three steals in 320 at-bats this season.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Posts four hits

Newman went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 12-2 victory over the Brewers on Saturday.

Since returning from an embarrassing injury in which he hurt himself setting up a pitching machine, Newman is batting .327 with 19 extra-base hits in 208 at-bats. Included during his tremendous first half is a 19-game hitting streak that just concluded last week. Newman is batting .324 with six home runs, 32 RBI, 24 runs and five steals in 219 at-bats this season.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Day off Saturday

Longoria is not starting Saturday against the Cardinals, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Longoria is riding a five-game hitting streak in which he's posted a .429/.500/1.095 slash line. He'll get a rest in favor of Pablo Sandoval on Saturday.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Heads to bench

McMahon is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona.

McMahon had started 19 of the last 20 games, hitting .295/.345/.410 over that stretch. Garrett Hampson will start at second base in his absence.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Still out Saturday

Anderson (elbow) remains out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

A bruised elbow has kept Anderson out of the lineup since he left Tuesday's game against the Nationals with the injury, though he's appeared off the bench in every game since. He'll sit for at least one more game, with Neil Walker starting at third base and Yadiel Rivera in right field.
