  • Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Fills in for Rojas

Rivera started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.

Rivera was surprisingly in the lineup against right-hander Dustin May, as Arizona manager Torey Lovullo benched primary third baseman and left-handed hitting Josh Rojas because of recent defensive inconsistency, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Rojas is working on technique with infield coach Tony Perezchica and may be held out of Thursday's series finale against left-hander Julio Urias, which means another start for the righty-hitting Rivera.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Slugs 20th homer

Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Astros.

Paredes took Lance McCullers yard in the seventh inning to tally his 20th homer of the season. He's held a fairly regular role in the Rays' lineup since Brandon Lowe (back) has been sidelined, maintaining a .318 average with two homers, five RBI and four runs scored across his last nine starts spanning to Sept. 13. Though he's struggled to hit for a decent average, Paredes has a 127 wRC+ and .338 wOBA across 343 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Slugs 11th homer

Moncada went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Guardians.

Moncada took Triston McKenzie deep in the fourth inning to tally his 11th homer of the season. Moncada has a disappointing season overall, though he's hitting .305 with four home runs, eight RBI and 10 runs scored in 13 starts since returning from the injured list.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Drives in pair

Farmer went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Farmer made the most of his lone hit by driving in two with a single in the fifth frame. He's had a productive close to the season, as he's tallied 11 RBI and seven runs scored across his last 18 starts. For the season, Farmer has maintained a .258/.318/.385 line across 532 plate appearances.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Launches home run in win

Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Marlins.

Wisdom took Jesus Luzardo deep for a solo shot in the top of the seventh inning, scoring the first run for the Cubs in the contest. The 31-year-old is now up to 23 long balls on the season and Wednesday's homer was his first since Aug. 19. On the season, Wisdom has produced a .211 average with 23 homers, 60 RBI, 61 runs and seven stolen bases over 432 at-bats in 123 games.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Out of lineup Wednesday

Longoria isn't starting Wednesday against Colorado.

Longoria will watch Wednesday's game from the dugout after going 1-for-14 with six strikeouts over the past week. In his place, the newly-promoted Jason Vosler will start at third base and hit seventh in the order.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Recalled ahead of start

Vosler was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and will start at third base Wednesday against Colorado, batting seventh.

Vosler has been back and forth between the majors and Triple-A all season, and he's now returned to San Francisco for the first time in nearly two months. He's had plenty of success at the big-league level, slashing .288/.351/.530 with 10 RBI over 74 plate appearances this season. In a corresponding move, Lewis Brinson was designated for assignment.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Muncy is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy sat out Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader but started the nightcap and went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, and he'll return to the bench for Wednesday's contest. Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter while Hanser Alberto starts at the hot corner.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Sits against righty again

Freeman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

After starting in the final three games of the Guardians' series with the Twins that ended Monday, Freeman finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row. Both of his absences from the lineup have come against right-handed pitchers (Dylan Cease and Lance Lynn), and the righty-hitting Freeman may find himself in a de facto platoon moving forward with lefty-hitting outfielder Will Brennan, who was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday and is starting in right field.

  • Ryan Kreidler 3B | MIN

Tigers' Ryan Kreidler: Sitting in second straight

Kreidler is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Kreidler will sit for the second day in a row after producing an ugly .182/.255/.273 slash line over his first 52 plate appearances of his big-league career. In light of his struggles, the 24-year-old rookie may be in danger of moving into more of a part-time role over the final two weeks of the season.
