The 36-year-old played for eight different organizations during his major-league career -- compiling a 4.27 ERA across nine seasons -- though his most memorable years came with the Mariners in 2009 and 2010, a two-year stretch during which he posted a 2.90 ERA, 129:59 K:BB and 69 saves across 121 innings of work.

The Atlanta Braves designated veteran reliever David Aardsma for assignment on Monday and recalled pitcher Sugar Ray Marimon from Triple-A, per a team release. Aardsma joined the Braves bullpen in June after not pitching in the majors since 2013. He was 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA in 33 appearances. After opting out of his minor-league contract with the Dodgers this past week, reliever David Aardsma has signed a new minors deal with the Atlanta Braves, according to MLB.com. Aardsma hasn't pitched in a big-league game since 2013, but the Braves came into play on Friday with the highest bullpen ERA in the National League. The veteran right-hander has a career 4.23 ERA over his eight-year tenure in the big leagues.
