Cesar Jimenez signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training.It appeared that Jimenez was planning to leave the majors for a chance to play a more prominent role in an Italian baseball league, but he now has the choice to stick with the Brewers and possibly make the major league roster. He spent much of 2015 splitting time between the Phillies and their Triple-A affiliate, but he posted a 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 9.6 K/9 after being claimed off waivers by the Brewers. Seeing as the Brewers currently have one left-hander manning their bullpen, Jimenez has a good shot at making a contribution for the Brewers if he decides to stay in the states.

The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed reliever Cesar Jimenez off waivers from Philadelphia, per CSNPhilly.com. The 30-year-old Jimenez, who was designated for assignment Thursday, pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings for the Philadelphia Phillies this season after longer stints with Seattle and Philadelphia in previous years.

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that they have designated left-hander Cesar Jimenez for assignment just eight days after his promotion. Jimenez didn't exactly get much of a shot. He pitched just one-third of a shutout inning during his most recent stay.
