    Blue Jays RP LaTroy Hawkins picks up save against former team

    Toronto Blue Jays reliever LaTroy Hawkins became the 13th player in history to record a save against all 30 teams, as he picked up the save against the Twins on Wednesday. Hawkins worked around a pair of hits to close out the 9-7 slugfest against the team for which he made his debut 20 years ago.  It was Hawkins' third save of the season, and his first since coming to the Blue Jays just before last week's trade deadline.

    Gibbons: Sanchez, Osuna to share eighth- and ninth-inning roles

    Toronto Blue Jays relievers Aaron Sanchez and Roberto Osuna will share the eighth- and ninth-inning roles, manager John Gibbons said Tuesday. The Blue Jays acquired veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins, who has experience as a closer, in a trade with the Rockies late Monday night. However, Gibbons stressed Hawkins will be used in the sixth and seventh innings.

    Blue Jays snag RP LaTroy Hawkins in deal with Rockies

    Former Colorado Rockies closer LaTroy Hawkins has been included in the deal that sent Troy Tulowitzki to the Toronto Blue Jays, per CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Hawkins saved just two games this season before losing his job. But he has allowed just one earned run in 14 appearances since June 14.

    Rockies RP LaTroy Hawks earns save Tuesday

    Colorado Rockies pitcher LaTroy Hawkins pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his second save of the season during Tuesday's 2-1 win over the A's. It was his first save since April 7. John Axford, the Rockies normal reliever, was unavialable due to a family matter, leaving Hawkins as the man to get the save on Tuesday. "Whether I'm pitching in the sixth inning or seventh inning, I try to do my job," Hawkins said, per MLB.com. "Sometimes it's passing the baton to the next guy and sometimes the guy is passing it to me."

    Rockies managing RP LaTroy Hawkins' workload

    The Colorado Rockies are being careful with veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins, limiting his innings despite being in situations where they could use an experienced arm, per MLB.com.  Hawkins did not pitch either Friday or Saturday before coming out of the pen Sunday to face and retire one batter. It's a new way to work for Hawkins, who missed extended time earlier in the year with right biceps tendinitis.  "I've had to pay closer attention to how I feel the last three or four years," he said. "Last year was a different situation because I was closing and wasn't getting that many opportunities, so I was a little fresher." In eight appearances since returning from the disabled list, Hawkins ERA has dipped from 10.50 to 5.68.

    Rockies activate Corey Dickerson, LaTroy Hawkins from DL

    The Colorado Rockies will activate Corey Dickerson and LaTroy Hawkins from the disabled list this afternoon, according to The Denver Post. In corresponding moves, the Rockies will send Kyle Parker and Christian Bergman to Triple-A. Dickerson has been on the disabled list with a foot injury. He's hitting .306 with five home runs in 111 at-bats this season. Hawkins has been on the disabled list with tendinitis in his biceps and hasn't pitched since April 21.

    Colorado Rockies pitcher LaTroy Hawkins will most likely come off the disabled list during the team's upcoming six-game road trip, which starts Thursday at Miami, reports The Denver Post. Hawkins is on the disabled list with tendinitis in his biceps. He has not pitched for the Rockies since April 21, but he has been pitching in rehab assignments in the minor leagues.

He's been on the shelf since April 22 due to biceps tendinitis. The reliever is expected to pitch in at least one more rehab game before potentially making a return to the majors.

    Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss said reliever LaTroy Hawkins will begin a rehab assignment on Thursday, according to The Denver Post.  Hawkins, who is recovering from right biceps tendinitis, traveled to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday and will pitch Thursday. He has been on the disabled list since April 22. Hawkins will at least appear in two rehab games.

    Rockies' Hawkins getting close to restarting rehab assignment

    Colorado Rockies reliever LaTroy Hawkins (biceps) threw a bullpen session Tuesday withou pain, according to MLB.com. Hawkins, who reported feeling well Wednesday, will throw another bullpen session this weekend in Philadelphia. If all goes well this weekend, Hawkins will then restart his rehab assignment. He had to stop his previous rehab assignment due to a minor setback.
