Hernandez's name creeps up in closer talk
The Brewers announced Thursday that they will be going with a closer-by-committee for the time being, after the failures of John Axford and Francisco Rodriguez to hold onto the job. MLB.com reported that all arms in the bullpen could be available to close games, but manager Ron Roenicke seemed to single out one surprising one in particular: veteran Livan Hernandez, who has been pitching out of the bullpen for the Brewers since they acquired him in June. I know one thing about him: he isnt going to be bothered by whats the circumstance, Roenicke said. Hes going to throw strikes. And thats not to say he wont go out there and walk somebody, but hes going to attack the hitters. Im OK with that.
