Leon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Leon will return to the bench following a three-game run as the starter, but he may have done enough during that time to reestablish himself as the primary backstop over Christian Vazquez, who will be behind the dish Wednesday. Leon went 5-for-14 with three homers and five RBI over the three games, raising his OPS 183 points in the process.

Maile will start at catcher and bat ninth in the order Wednesday against the Indians, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Maile will pick up his second start behind the plate in three games since Russell Martin (shoulder/neck) hit the disabled list Monday. Martin acknowledged that the injury has been bothering him since spring training and isn't comparable to an issue he's dealt with before, so there's a good possibility the veteran backstop will miss more than the minimum 10 days. While Maile will stand to benefit if that's the case, he'll need to show some more offense before moving up in the lineup. Maile has gone 1-for-13 at the dish in five games with the Blue Jays this season.

Hedges is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers.

Hedges is in the midst of a 3-for-25 skid at the dish, so he'll take a seat Wednesday to clear his head. Luis Torrens will step in behind the plate and bat ninth in the order.

Maldonado is out of Wednesday's lineup against the A's.

After catching the last five games, he will take a seat in the day game against righty Andrew Triggs. Juan Graterol will get the start behind the dish and hit ninth.

Contreras is not in the Cubs' lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Rockies.

Contreras played in both games of Thursday's doubleheader, so Miguel Montero will take over behind the plate to give him a breather. The 24-year-old is having a tough start to the month, hitting just .167 with three RBI over 30 at-bats.

Rupp is not in the Phillies' lineup for Wednesday's matinee against the Mariners.

It will be the second time in the last three games that Andrew Knapp gets the start behind the plate. It's a surprising move considering Rupp's recent offensive tear, as he has gone 7-for-16 with two homers and three RBI over the past week.

McCann went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

McCann has just 11 hits and a .157 average this season, but he's gone deep seven times. Locked into a timeshare with Alex Avila, McCann provides a little bit of fantasy value due simply to his power potential whenever he's in the lineup.

Narvaez was inserted into Tuesday's starting lineup after Geovany Soto was scratched due to elbow soreness. He walked twice and scored a run in a 7-2 loss to the Twins.

This is the second flareup of elbow soreness for Soto, who spent some time on the disabled list back in April with inflammation. Narvaez will become the primary catcher for the White Sox until Soto gets past the elbow woes.

Grandal stayed hot at the plate Tuesday, going 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 4-3 win over the Pirates.

After a slow start to the season, Grandal has picked things up of late, batting .370 (10-for-27) with a homer and six RBI over his last six contests. The switch-hitting catcher has proven to be a streaky hitter in the past and he appears to be locked in at the plate right now.

Perez went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two walks, two RBI and two runs against the Rays on Tuesday.

He's shown plenty of thump in the bat this year, rewarding fantasy owners with seven homers and 18 RBI already, although this one was his first of May. There's no reason to think that Perez won't remain among the most productive catchers all season long, as he's been a reliable source of both health and pop for years.
