Bummer was diagnosed with left biceps soreness following his removal from Friday's game.

Bummer is set to be re-evaluated by the White Sox on Saturday, after which the team could get a better idea of the severity of the issue. The southpaw pitched 1.2 scoreless innings Friday prior to his removal, allowing one hit and two walks while failing to record a strikeout.

Bummer was removed from Friday's game with an apparent injury, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Bummer entered in the sixth inning of Friday's contest and threw 30 pitches over 1.2 innings, but he was examined by the training staff and removed from the game. The nature and severity of the injury are unclear.

Adams (knee) is unlikely to rejoin the Mariners during their upcoming road trip, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The Mariners were hopeful that Adams would be able to throw a live bullpen session this weekend and return as early as Monday, but that's unlikely to happen since his knee isn't yet at 100 percent. The right-hander underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in October and has been recovering ever since. The team is scheduled to return to Seattle on Aug. 19, and Adams could return then if his knee returns to full strength during the road trip.

Palumbo was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to an ulcerative colitis flare-up.

Palumbo hadn't made any appearances out of the bullpen since Aug. 1, and Friday's transaction provides an explanation for his lack of usage. The move is retroactive to Aug. 4, so he'll be able to return as early as next weekend. The southpaw allowed three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five over 2.1 innings across two appearances to begin the season. Once he returns, Palumbo should continue to pitch mainly in low-leverage situations.

Montero (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Montero was unavailable to begin the season as he dealt with right elbow tendinitis, but he'll be available out of the bullpen starting Friday. The right-hander should take on a high-leverage role in the bullpen and could see some save chances given the lack of experience among the Rangers' late-inning arms. Montero made 22 appearances for the Rangers last year, posting a 2.48 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over 29 innings.

Alvarado (paternity) could return to the Rays as soon as Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Alvarado was placed on the paternity list Friday but is evidently in line for quite a short absence. He's made six appearances for the Rays this season, striking out nine and walking three over 5.2 innings while allowing three runs (two earned).

Alexander will be a member of the Tigers' rotation going forward, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Alexander certainly earned the opportunity after striking out nine batters in a row (and 10 batters total) in a relief appearance Sunday. Eight of his MLB appearances thus far in his career have come as a starter, with nine coming in relief. He's allowed a .356 wOBA as a starter compared to a .287 mark out of the bullpen, though the gap between his 4.54 ERA as a starter and his 4.12 ERA as a reliever isn't particularly large.

Norris will pitch out of the bullpen going forward, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Norris' start to the season was delayed due to COVID-19, and he looked poor in his lone appearance, giving up two runs while allowing six baserunners and recording just five outs in a start against the Reds on Sunday. He's expected to be used in a piggyback role with Michael Fulmer for now, with Tyler Alexander taking his spot in the rotation.

Richards will fill a bullpen role during the Rays' weekend series against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Richards was recalled in place of Yonny Chirinos (triceps) on Thursday, but he evidently won't be filling Chirinos' rotation spot. The team's expected starters for Saturday's doubleheader are not yet known. Richards hasn't exactly earned a rotation spot given his performances to date, as he's allowed six runs on 10 hits in 5.1 innings across a pair of relief appearances.

Lopez was reinstated from the bereavement list Friday and was designated for assignment by the Royals.

Lopez made one appearance this season before being placed on the bereavement list July 31, and he won't end up rejoining the big-league club. The 27-year-old had a 6.33 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 109:42 K:BB over 123.2 innings last season.
