  • White Sox's David Robertson: Earns win after blowing save

Robertson (1-0) blew the save after allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two across two innings, but he still earned a victory Saturday against the Tigers.

Robertson was unable to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning, but after the White Sox scored a pair of runs in the 10th frame, he was able to set down the side in the bottom half to notch the victory. The blown save broke a streak of five successful conversions, and although he's allowed runs to score in two of his last three outings, he boasts a strong 2.79 ERA to go along with a 1.03 WHIP, and he should continue to function as a mid-range fantasy option at closer.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Posts quality start

Fulmer (2-1) struck out three and allowed three runs on four hits and three walks over six innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Fulmer gave up runs in each of the first three frames before eventually leaving the contest with a 3-2 deficit, but the offense was able to take him off the hook for the loss in the late innings. He's only made it out of the sixth inning once in five starts, and he's allowed exactly three runs in three of his last four outings, though he still boasts an excellent 3.19 ERA and remains a strong fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Indians.

  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Suffers first loss of 2017

Andriese (1-1) allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out four across seven innings to take the loss Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Andriese was in a pitcher's duel until allowing a two-run shot to Justin Smoak in the sixth inning, and he left the contest with a 4-1 deficit, which led to his first loss of the season. He's been a solid fantasy performer over his last four starts, as he's allowed just eight earned runs, and his ERA is at 3.86, making him a pitcher who should remain in most fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Marlins.

  • Austin Pruitt RP | TEX

Rays' Austin Pruitt: Notches third win with multi-inning effort

Pruitt (3-0) struck out one and gave up one earned run on three hits in a 7-4 win over the Blue Jays on Friday.

Pruitt exhibited excellent control, throwing 30 of his 40 pitches for strikes and notching first-pitch strikes on 10 of the 13 hitters he faced. Following a bumpy eight-hit, four-run effort against the Red Sox on April 14, the 27-year-old right-hander has given up just two earned runs over the 12.2 innings encompassing his subsequent five appearances and has logged three victories over that span.

  • Cesar Valdez RP | LAA

Athletics' Cesar Valdez: Utilized in long relief Friday

Valdez gave up three earned runs on four hits and a walk over three innings in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Astros.

The A's had a need for some long relief after Jharel Cotton exited with just one out in the fifth, and Valdez was able to gobble up the final three innings. He was relatively efficient in throwing just 37 pitches, but also was touched up for a solo homer by Yuli Gurriel and two-run double by Carlos Correa. The 32-year-old figures to stick around the Oakland bullpen for a while, as he offers manager Bob Melvin a multi-inning option that can also start in a pinch.

  • Joe Jimenez RP | ATL

    Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Struggles Friday

Jimenez gave up three hits and two earned runs in an inning of work during Friday's loss to the White Sox.

Jimenez came on to work the ninth inning with the Tigers down 5-3 and promptly gave up a single and a two-run homer to start the frame. With a 12.46 ERA in 4.1 innings at the MLB level, Jimenez could be headed back to Triple-A soon, but his long-term outlook is still strong as a potential closer.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Comes through again in ninth Friday

Diaz recorded his fourth save of the season in Friday's 3-1 win over the Indians, notching three strikeouts over a scoreless 1.1 innings.

Manager Scott Servais recently alluded to the fact that Diaz could see some outside-the-box usage for a closer, namely, some multi-inning work when he deemed necessary. Such a situation cropped up Friday, as the young right-hander set down Edwin Encarnacion with two outs in the eighth and Francisco Lindor on second. He then impressively retired the dangerous trio of Jose Ramirez, Jason Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall in the ninth, giving him his second save in as many nights.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Scoreless streak ends

Kelly allowed two hits and a run in two-thirds of an inning in a 5-4 win over the Cubs on Friday.

Kelly's seventh-inning wild pitch allowed an inherited runner to score and put one of his runners in scoring position to be plated on a Ben Zobrist single. He had gone four straight appearances and 6.2 innings without allowing a run before Friday, which turned out to be his first hold of the season. He's flirted with danger this season, walking six in 12.2 innings with a 3.83 FIP, suggesting his 2.13 ERA won't hold up. The lack of consistent control, which has reared itself time and again throughout his career, is the main reason why manager John Farrell can't fully trust Kelly in an eighth-inning role.

  • JT Chargois RP | TEX

Twins' J.T. Chargois: On DL with elbow injury

Chargois was placed on the 7-day DL at Triple-A Rochester due to an elbow impingement, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "Should be a short-term situation," said Brad Steil, Minnesota's director of minor-league operations.

Chargois has thrown just 2.1 innings this season as he missed time with a strained shoulder muscle. He's a candidate to be called up to the majors when healthy due to a fastball that can reach the high 90s and strong strikeout rates (10.5 K/9 last year at Triple-A).

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Notches eighth save Friday

Kimbrel allowed a hit and struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to pick up his eighth save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Cubs.

The strikeouts are coming in bunches once again for Kimbrel, who now has a ridiculous 20:2 K:BB through 10.1 innings to go along with a 1.74 ERA and 0.68 WHIP. The 28-year-old had looked almost human at times over the prior two seasons, but so far in 2017 Kimbrel seems to have returned to the form he showed in Atlanta that made him arguably the best fantasy closer in the league.
