The Royals transferred Ragans (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

On the 15-day IL since May 8 due to an elbow impingement, Ragans' experienced a setback Friday that will sideline him until at least the second week of July. Before going down with the elbow issue, the left-hander posted a 4.84 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 45:23 K:BB across 35.1 innings.

The Mariners traded Dobnak to Kansas City on Wednesday, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Dobnak spent his 2026 season with Seattle's Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma before being dealt to the Royals. With Tacoma, the 31-year-old posted a 4.24 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 39:24 K:BB across 70 innings. Dobnak will join Kansas City's 40-man roster and report to Triple-A Omaha.

Avila (2-3) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over 5.2 innings in a 6-2 victory over the Nationals. He struck out five.

The right-hander got chased in the first inning by the Astros in his last trip to the mound, but Avila shook off that disaster and came one out shy of recording his first career quality start, tossing 59 of 91 pitches for strikes before being lifted when he ran into trouble in the sixth. Since moving into the rotation at the beginning of June, Avila has posted a 6.06 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB in 16.1 innings over four starts. He'll look to build on Wednesday's performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Tampa Bay.

Garcia (elbow) struck out the side Tuesday for Triple-A Buffalo and is scheduled for another rehab outing Thursday, reports Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca.

After recording a 13-pitch inning for Buffalo on Tuesday, Toronto is looking to carry out its original plan of getting Garcia into more minor-league action before he makes his season debut for the big-league club. The 35-year-old was originally placed on the 15-day injured list March 25 and then was transferred to the 60-day IL a month later. Garcia appeared in 22 games for Toronto during the 2025 regular season, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB through 21 innings.

Hader earned the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Tigers, allowing one run on one hit and no walks with three strikeouts in the ninth inning.

Hader was summoned to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning and yielded a leadoff homer before rebounding with three straight punchouts. It was the first run allowed by the 32-year-old in seven appearances since returning from the injured list June 3. He still sports a 1.29 ERA, 0.43 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB across seven innings while converting all four of his save chances.

Fisher will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game in Boston, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Max Scherzer had been scheduled to start Wednesday, but after he developed back spasms that resulted in his unexpected placement on the IL, the Blue Jays will pivot to a bullpen game. The opener assignment is a familiar one for Fisher, who has made four of his 36 appearances this season as a starter. He hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of those outings, so he'll likely cover no more than an inning or two before exiting the game. Chad Dallas and Simeon Woods Richardson are on hand as fresh arms capable of covering multiple frames in relief behind Fisher.

The Blue Jays recalled Dallas from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

Toronto had optioned Dallas to Triple-A on June 5, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club less than two weeks later since Max Scherzer (back) was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Scherzer had been scheduled to start Wednesday's game in Boston, but his move to the IL will prompt the Blue Jays to turn to Braydon Fisher to open the contest. Dallas will be available on five days' rest and could be called upon to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen once Fisher exits the game, though Simeon Woods Richardson also lingers as a fresh arm that Toronto could lean on in bulk relief.

The Twins sent Rojas (elbow) to Triple-A St. Paul this week to begin a rehab assignment, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.

Rojas has been shelved since late May with left elbow inflammation, but after completing a 30-pitch live batting practice session over the weekend, he's been cleared to start pitching in rehab games. How long Rojas' rehab assignment lasts could depend on what role the Twins have planned for him when he returns. He's made one start for Minnesota this season and has gone multiple innings in all four of his relief appearances.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Tuesday that Vargas (lat) recently began a throwing program and could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list around the Aug. 3 trade deadline, Zac Hereth of 710 AM Seattle Sports reports.

Vargas has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a right lat strain, which he sustained in spring training. Even though Vargas projects to serve as a middle reliever and won't need to get stretched out for more than an inning or two, the Mariners are content to have him move through his throwing program slowly. A more definitive target date for his return should become available once he's ready to head out on a rehab assignment.

Gaddis (1-2) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Brewers after allowing a run and a hit over one inning of work. He didn't record a strikeout.

Gaddis has been a reliable bullpen arm for the Guardians all season long, but he was tagged with the loss in this one after giving up the game-winning homer to Garrett Mitchell in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gaddis has allowed runs in two of hs last four outings, but he should remain a top setup option in Cleveland's bullpen. Over his last 13 appearances and 12.2 innings, Gaddis has a 1.42 ERA and 0.87 WHIP while recording eight holds and a save.
