Baker (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday, working a perfect ninth inning without a strikeout in a 2-1 victory over the A's.
With the game tied 1-1 and a save situation off the table at home, Baker was called in for the top of the ninth and needed just seven pitches (three strikes) to set down the 2-3-4 hitters for the A's. The right-hander then got rewarded when Junior Caminero walked it off with a solo shot. Baker has been scored upon in only one of his last nine appearances, picking up two wins and three saves during that stretch with a 1.08 ERA and 0.96 WHIP, but a lackluster 6:5 K:BB.

Baker (illness) retired the side on nine pitches during the ninth inning of Tuesday's 7-1 win over Atlanta.
Baker made an early exit in his most recent relief appearance during Friday's 7-6 win over the Rangers while he battled an illness, but he was able to quickly recover from the ailment. The Rays elected to break their top reliever back in in a low-pressure spot Tuesday, with Baker inducing two flyouts and a groundout to finish out the contest. Baker has been a revelation during his first season as a full-time closer, converting 39 of 42 save chances while pitching to a 1.61 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over 56 innings.

Rays' Bryan Baker: Battling illness
Manager Kevin Cash said after Friday's win over the Rangers that Baker was removed from the game due to an illness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
"Nothing physical," Cash stressed, which is music to the ears of Baker's fantasy managers. Baker walked both batters he faced before being removed from a save situation Friday. He leads the majors in saves with 39 this season.
