Treinen (shoulder) agreed to a one-year extension with the Dodgers on Sunday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Treinen was already under team control for 2023 with an $8 million team option, but he's now officially under contract. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the new deal includes a conditional option for 2024. The right-hander is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, and it's unclear when he's expected to resume throwing, let alone be activated from the 60-day injured list.

The Mets are "leaning heavily" toward recalling Szapucki from Triple-A Syracuse to start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Due to a doubleheader this past weekend in Colorado, the Mets will need to break a sixth starter into the rotation Wednesday, and Szapucki looks like the leading option to make a spot start. Arm injuries have slowed Szapucki's progression through the Mets' farm system since he was drafted in 2015, but he's been healthy and effective at Triple-A this season, submitting a 2.86 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while striking out 30 in 22 innings. If Szapucki does in fact get the call to start Wednesday, he'll most likely be sent back to Syracuse following the outing, but he could make a case to stick around as a back-end member of the rotation over Trevor Williams or David Peterson if he fares better than anticipated in what would be only his second MLB appearance.

The Padres recalled Wilson from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Wilson was added to the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Mike Clevinger (triceps), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. MacKenzie Gore is slated to start Sunday's game in San Francisco and will likely end up replacing Clevinger moving forward should the Padres elect to keep a five-man rotation intact, so Wilson will likely be relegated to a middle-relief role out of the bullpen while he's up with San Diego. In his 15 appearances with the big club earlier this season, Wilson collected three wins and five holds and posted a 4.20 ERA in 15 innings.

VerHagen (1-0) earned the win Saturday versus the Pirates, allowing one walk and striking out two over 2.1 scoreless innings.

Starter Matthew Liberatore came up one out short of qualifying for the win, allowing VerHagen to earn it instead. Since returning from a hip injury, VerHagen has allowed just one hit and two walks over 5.1 innings. He has a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB in six appearances spanning 10 innings overall.

The Marlins optioned Castano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Castano would have been available out of the bullpen for Sunday's series finale with Atlanta after having not pitched since Wednesday, but the Marlins decided to send him out to the minors in favor of Joe Dunand, who was recalled from Jacksonville to provide some depth in the infield while Miguel Rojas (calf) is on the bench. Expect Castano to slot back into the Jacksonville rotation upon returning to the Triple-A affiliate.

The Cardinals recalled Rondon from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Rondon will give the Cardinals a fresh arm out of the bullpen capable of covering multiple innings after Drew VerHagen covered 2.1 innings in long relief in Saturday's 5-4 win. Matthew Liberatore, who started Saturday's contest, was optioned to Memphis to clear a spot on the active roster for Rondon.

Blach allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out none across three innings in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Blach served as the opener and wasn't particularly effective, though he did manage to hold the Mets without an extra-base hit. He has served as a long-relief option out of Colorado's bullpen this season but has now surrendered six earned runs across his last six frames. On the campaign, Blach has maintained a 5.73 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP to go along with one win and a 13:6 K:BB in 22 innings.

Kimbrel struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his ninth save of the season in a 7-4 win over the Phillies.

The veteran closer stumbled early in the week in a couple appearances against Arizona, but Kimbrel seems to have righted the ship quickly. He has yet to blow a save this season, and he'll take a 3.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB through 12 innings into his next appearance.

White didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Phillies, giving up three runs on three hits and a walk over 2.1 innings. He struck out two.

As expected, White didn't last long in his first start of the season and gave the Dodgers only 49 pitches (26 strikes), but the right-hander got hit hard when he was over the plate, serving up a homer to Alec Bohm and a double to Jean Segura. Los Angeles is scrambling to plug holes in the rotation left by injuries to Clayton Kershaw (pelvis), Andrew Heaney (shoulder) and others, but White may not be the answer. The right-hander will carry a 6.17 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB through 11.2 big-league innings into his next outing.

Rogers gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his 16th save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Giants.

The 31-year-old southpaw moved into the MLB lead in saves with another sharp performance. Rogers has been charged with just one run in 18 appearances this season, and he sports a 0.49 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through 18.1 innings in his first campaign for San Diego.
