Helsley earned the save against the Pirates on Saturday, pitching a perfect inning during which he struck out one batter.

Giovanny Gallegos pitched each of the previous two days and threw 1.2 innings in collecting a save Friday, so the Cardinals went to Helsley to protect a one-run, ninth-inning lead Saturday. The right-hander got the job done, needing only 13 pitches to retire the side and notch his second save of the campaign. Helsley has yet to give up an earned run across 14.2 innings on the season, and he has compiled a magnificent 25:2 K:BB.

Hernandez (2-4) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out five over five innings.

Hernandez kept Atlanta off the scoreboard for four frames before William Contreras tagged him for a solo homer in the fifth inning. That run was enough to send the right-hander to his third straight loss despite the fact the allowed fewer than two earned runs for only the second time this season. It was an altogether promising outing for the hurler, as he threw 49 of 70 pitches for strikes and registered 11 swings-and-misses. Hernandez still holds an unappealing 5.59 ERA on the season, however, and he's allowed at least one long ball in all but one of his eight starts. He'll look to get back in the win column the next time he takes the mound, which is expected to be in a rematch in Atlanta next week.

Jansen picked up the save against the Marlins on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three across one inning.

Jansen was summoned in the ninth inning with Atlanta holding a two-run lead, and he struck out the first two batters he faced. Things turned sour quickly for the veteran, however, as a walk, a single and a double netted one run for Miami and put the tying run on third base. Jansen was then able to recollect himself and strike out Jorge Soler to end the threat. Though Jansen has allowed runs in his past two outings, he has been one of the NL's top closers overall this season, converting 10 of 11 save opportunities and posting a 25:5 K:BB over 17.2 innings.

Melancon earned a save in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cubs, surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits while pitching the 10th inning. He struck out two batters.

Melancon was brought in to protect a 7-4 lead in the bottom of the 10th inning, and gave up an RBI single to Andrelton Simmons and an RBI double to Jonathan Villar, narrowing the lead to 7-6. He was able to strikeout Seiya Suzuki to end the contest, earning his ninth save of the year in 10 opportunities. Since the beginning of May, the 37-year-old has had a rocky road, surrendering 11 earned runs over 6.1 innings. Although he's struggled recently, his role as the closer for the Diamondbacks is still secure.

Hader got the final out of Saturday's 5-1 win against the Nationals, earning the save.

Hader appeared to have the night off, but Hoby Milner put two runners on in a four-run game and the 28-year-old's services were deemed necessary. He induced a Matt Adams flyout to notch his 15th save, ranking second in the league, in his first appearance since May 16 after some time away from the team. Hader has delivered the save in all 15 of his appearances across 13.2 innings and is still yet to surrender a run.

Robertson was charged with a blown save after pitching 1.1 innings, giving up one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out one in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Robertson was called on to replace Scott Effross in the top of the eighth inning with a runner on base and a 4-2 lead. He promptly gave up an RBI double to Jake McCarthy to bring it within one and then a game-tying single to Daulton Varsho before the inning's end. The 37-year-old returned for the ninth frame, giving up another hit and two walks before working his way out of the jam and producing a scoreless inning. The blown save was his first of the season -- he converted his first five opportunities before Saturday. Robertson now owns a 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 14.1 innings and remains the favorite for saves on the Cubs.

Cousins (elbow) received a PRP injection Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Cousins is dealing with a UCL injury in his right elbow, but he's opting against surgery for now. His recovery process was slowed after he recently tested positive for COVID-19, but he's since tested negative. Following Tuesday's injection, the 27-year-old will head to Arizona for 4-to-6 weeks of rest and rehab prior to beginning a throwing program.

Davidson is slated to start Monday's game against the Phillies, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Davidson made his first start of the season Tuesday against the Brewers, and he picked up the win by tossing five scoreless innings. The southpaw will make a second turn through the rotation at home against the Phillies during Monday's series opener.

Medina was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to serve as the 27th man in Saturday's doubleheader against the Rockies, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Medina served as the 27th man during Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, and he'll serve as an extra man once again during Saturday's twin bill. The right-hander has made three relief appearances for the Mets this year and has struck out six in 6.1 scoreless innings.

Brebbia struck out one in a perfect inning during Friday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Brebbia has given up runs in only three of his 17 appearances this season, and he's yet to surrender a homer. He's allowed three runs in nine inning in May, and he's got a 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB with three holds in 18 innings overall.
