Gilbert (6-2) earned the win Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings against the Astros. He struck out three.

Gilbert walked two batters in the first inning, one of which came around to score on an RBI single from Yordan Alvarez. The right-hander got tagged for two more runs on back-to-back RBI knocks from Alvarez and Kyle Tucker in the third, but Gilbert was able to settle down after that and notched his fifth straight quality start. Across 12 starts and 71 innings, he sports a 2.41 ERA with a 70:22 K:BB. Gilbert's next outing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday's contest against Minnesota.

Singer (3-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-4 victory over the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on eight hits over five innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Two of the hits off Singer left the yard, but the right-hander got enough run support to weather the blows. Keeping the ball in the yard has become a problem for the 25-year-old, as he's served up six homers in his last three starts. However, Singer still sports a 3.94 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and sharp 29:3 K:BB in 29.2 innings since rejoining the Royals' rotation.

Kluber (3-2) allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Kluber was handed a five-run lead within the first three innings and took advantage to earn the win. Despite giving up three runs, he wasn't hit particularly hard, as Tyler O'Neill registered the only extra-base hit against Kluber with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Kluber has allowed three or fewer earned runs in five consecutive starts, which has helped him maintain a 3.88 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 51:9 K:BB across 55.2 innings on the season.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said he is "hoping" Paxton (elbow) will throw off a mound while the team is in Seattle this weekend, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

A report Wednesday suggested next week for Paxton to throw off a mound, but the schedule may be hastened. The left-hander, who suffered a setback in April while returning from Tommy John surgery, has progressed to playing long toss since resuming his throwing program May 18. Paxton has been pushing to get on a mound, and he may get that chance this weekend.

Kikuchi didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Royals, giving up three runs on two hits and four walks while recording only two outs, both via strikeout.

The southpaw simply didn't have it in this one, tossing just 24 of 45 pitches for strikes before getting yanked. Fortunately for Kikuchi, the Blue Jays were able to tie the game briefly in the third inning to get him off the hook for his third loss of the year. He's now failed to last at least five innings in three of his last four starts, and Kikuchi will carry a 4.44 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 52:28 K:BB through 46.2 innings into his next outing.

Eovaldi was dealing with hip tightness during Wednesday's start against the Angels, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Eovaldi starting feeling the sensation Tuesday, but he was treated and felt fine doing his prep work for Wednesday's start. The issue appears to have impacted his four-seamer, which averaged 94 mph, down from 96.7 mph over his first 11 starts. "Yeah, probably that's it," manager Alex Cora said. "He pitched well. He got us 5 scoreless innings. The stuff wasn't great but he did a good job changing speeds, using his offspeed pitches." Cora added that he doesn't think Eovaldi will miss his next start while noting the pitcher will have an additional day between outings since Boston is off Monday.

Detmers pitched 4.1 scoreless innings against Boston on Wednesday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out one. He did not factor in the decison.

Detmers did well in keeping the Red Sox off the scoreboard, but he didn't last very long in the contest due to throwing 85 pitches before he could get through the fifth inning. That was partly due to Boston fouling off 22 of his offerings despite collecting only three hits. This was Detmers' second straight short scoreless start -- he also lasted only 4.1 innings against the Yankees in his previous appearance. It's impressive that the left-hander has logged 8.2 scoreless frames against two top offenses, but his fantasy impact is muted by the fact that he hasn't been able to go deep into contests.

Eovaldi (4-2) earned the win over the Angels on Wednesday, pitching five scoreless innings during which he allowed six hits while striking out five.

The Angels put at least one runner on base in four of the Eovaldi's five innings, but they didn't manage any extra-base hits and weren't able to get any runners to third base. The right-hander was fairly inefficient with 84 pitches over five frames, but he didn't walk any batters and racked up 14 swinging strikes. Eovaldi lowered his season ERA to 3.16 with the strong outing, and he has pitched 11 scoreless innings while notching 13 strikeouts and a pair of wins over his past two starts.

Bieber allowed three hits and struck out six across 4.1 scoreless innings Wednesday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Bieber got little resistance from the Rangers early in the game, as he retired 11 of the first 12 batters he faced. He racked up an impressive 11 swinging strikes across 54 pitches but was ultimately forced from the game after a lengthy rain delay. The Guardians were up 4-0 at the time and maintained that lead for the rest of the contest, so Bieber ran into some bad luck to lose the chance for a win. Even so, Bieber has been in excellent form of late, allowing only six earned runs across his last 32.1 frames. Overall, Bieber owns a 2.91 ERA with a 68:16 K:BB across 65 frames on the campaign.

Dunning (1-4) allowed four earned runs on nine hits while striking out one across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Guardians.

Dunning allowed a pair of runs in the second and third frames to turn in a disappointing outing. He was pulled after 64 pitches due to a lengthy rain delay, robbing him of the chance to work deeper into the outing to mitigate some of the damage he surrendered. Dunning has had drastically varied results of late, as he's allowed four or more earned runs in three of his last six starts. In the other three outings, he's allowed a combined six earned runs across 19.1 frames. For the season, Dunning has a 4.41 ERA and 64:20 K:BB across 65.2 innings.
