Wood (8-10) gave up seven earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings to take the loss in a 7-4 defeat against the Rockies on Friday.

Wood was pounded for seven runs in his road start at Coors Field to take his 10th loss of the season. Most the damage came on a pair of home runs by rookie Elehuris Montero, who picked up five RBI on the night. The three long balls that Wood surrendered were the most that he had given up in a game all season. Wood's 1.22 WHIP is right in line with his career average and he will look to bounce back from his worst start of the year his next time out in what is tentatively expected to be a road matchup against the Twins.

Urena (2-4) gave up three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings to earn the win in a 7-4 victory over the Giants on Friday.

Urena tied his longest appearance of the season in a quality start which earned him his second win. Urena has not issued less than two walks in any start since being acquired by the Rockies at the beginning of July, and he does not make up for his control problems with strikeout stuff. The 30-year-old sinkerballer came into the game with a terrible walk rate of 4.6 BB/9 to go along with a 4.8 K/9. He is expected to make his next start at home versus Texas.

Snell allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven in five innings Friday, taking a no-decision versus the Nationals.

Snell hadn't allowed multiple runs in any of his five previous starts and only once in his last eight, but the Nationals got to him in the fourth and fifth innings in this contest. The southpaw has struck out at least seven in five straight outings. For the season, he's posted a 3.76 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 112:38 K:BB across 83.2 innings through 16 starts. Snell is lined up for a favorable road start in Kansas City next week.

Luzardo allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Two of Luzardo's four starts in August have been quality ones, with Friday's effort arguably one of his best all year given the opponent. He was charged with one run in the seventh inning, surrendered by Steven Okert after Luzardo left the contest with one on and one out. The 24-year-old southpaw has pitched to a 3.44 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB through 52.1 innings across 10 starts this year.

Anderson allowed a run on five hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins on Friday.

Anderson got through six innings without much trouble but lacked run support. He allowed one run in the seventh and left with the game tied, making this just the second time all year he's gone two consecutive starts without a win. The southpaw has yielded 10 runs (eight earned) through 38 innings across his last six starts. For the season, he owns a 2.73 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 107:28 K:BB through 135.1 innings across 23 starts. He remains at 13-2 heading into his next start.

Mikolas (10-9) earned the win Friday over the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on two hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out four across eight innings.

Mikolas got through the Arizona order cleanly the first time, then allowed two baserunners in the fourth. The only run he surrendered was in the eighth on a groundout. Aside from a 10-run disaster in Colorado on Aug. 9, Mikolas has been fairly sharp lately. For the season, he owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 118:28 K:BB through 157.1 innings across 25 starts. The right-hander is lined up for a road start versus the Cubs next week.

Henry (2-2) allowed a run on six hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out seven over 5.1 innings Friday, but he took the loss versus the Cardinals.

Henry's lone mistake was a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning. He was able to keep the deficit low, but the Cardinals pulled away in the seventh against the Diamondbacks' bullpen. Henry's alternated between good and mediocre through his first four starts. He's pitched to a 3.57 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB through 22.2 innings overall. The rookie southpaw is tentatively projected for a road start against the White Sox next week.

Ashcraft yielded three runs on nine hits and a walk over 6.2 frames Friday against Pittsburgh. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.

Ashcraft rolled through five shutout frames without much resistance before the Pirates broke through in the sixth inning on their way to a win. The 24-year-old rookie tied his season best with eight strikeouts while firing 62 of 85 pitches for strikes. He's sporting a 3.97 ERA with a 64:23 K:BB through 16 starts. Ashcraft is projected to start in Philadelphia next week.

Kershaw (back) threw a bullpen session Friday, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

The veteran left-hander is nearly two weeks removed from an epidural injection, and he's now resumed mound work. Kershaw will be evaluated Saturday and could begin facing live batters next week with a simulated game to follow. Barring any setbacks, he's on track to return from the injured within the next couple weeks.

Peterson will be recalled to start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Phillies, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

The left-hander picked up the win with 5.1 scoreless frames in a spot start Aug. 6 against Atlanta, and he'll rejoin the big club Saturday for this twin bill. Peterson has been an effective rotation option for the Mets in 14 starts this year with a 3.17 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 83:33 K:BB over 71 innings.
