Kelly (illness) threw 51 pitches in an intrasquad game Friday.

Kelly is working his way back after testing positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 14. The right-hander's next step will be a start Sept. 8 at Arizona's training complex, putting him in line for a return sometime during the series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, beginning Sept. 13.

DeSclafani got a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers, allowing two hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.

After working around a two-out, two-on situation in the first inning, DeSclafani avoided any hiccups in submitting six strong innings. Despite needing just 84 pitches to navigate the six frames, manager Gabe Kapler opted to pull the 31-year-old as San Francisco was protecting a slim 1-0 lead. Los Angeles went on to score one in the ninth and erase DeSclafani's potential win. It was nice to see the righty back on track after he failed to eclipse five innings in any of his previous five starts. He's scheduled to face Colorado next week.

Gore was assigned to High-A Fort Wayne on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gore returned to game action with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate Aug. 19 and has made three appearances since then. During that time, he posted a 1.65 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 16.1 innings. The southpaw continues to progress following his lengthy absence due to a finger issue, but he's running out of time to join the major-league club in 2021.

Gibson (10-6) allowed eight runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against Miami.

Through five frames, the only damage against Gibson was a three-run homer by Jesus Sanchez in the first inning. The Marlins then erupted for seven runs in the sixth, with five of those being charged to the 33-year-old. Gibson's ERA jumped from 2.94 to 3.30 through 155.1 innings this season. It was just the second time in his seven starts with the Phillies that he allowed more than three runs. Gibson is lined up to face the Brewers on the road next week.

Luzardo allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Phillies on Friday. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Luzardo coughed up a leadoff homer to Freddy Galvis followed by a pair of RBI extra-base knocks by Matt Vierling in the second and sixth frames. He left the game in a 3-3 tie and would've earned a win if he completed the sixth, as the Marlins piled on seven runs the next half-inning. The 23-year-old southpaw lowered his ERA to 7.00 with the performance and has a 71:36 K:BB through 72 innings. Luzardo is projected to see the Mets at home next week.

Gonsolin (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Low-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gonsolin felt good after he threw a simulated game Monday and will now return to game action for the first time since late July. The right-hander will likely require more than one rehab appearance given the length of his absence, but he's getting closer to rejoining the major-league squad.

Kershaw (forearm) threw a two-inning simulated game Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Kershaw previously faced hitters Monday, and he'll have a quick turnaround before he throws a bullpen Sunday. If the southpaw feels good after Sunday's throwing session, he's expected to begin a rehab assignment shortly after.

Peralta (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Cardinals.

Peralta will rejoin the rotation as expected Friday after missing just over two weeks with inflammation in his right shoulder. The 25-year-old may face some minor workload limitations as the Brewers may attempt to ease him back into the rotation.

Woodford was recalled from Triple-A Memphis prior to Friday's game against the Brewers.

Junior Fernandez (shoulder strain) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Woodford will likely work as a long reliever while up with the big club.

Toussaint didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rockies after allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits across three innings. He didn't strike out or walk anyone and also hit a batter.

Toussaint got a chance to return to the rotation, but this outing wasn't a positive one by any means, as the five runs he allowed represent his second-worst mark of the season as he also provided one of his shortest outings of the campaign. As a result, his ERA jumped from 3.60 to 4.19 following this appearance.
