Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Begins rehab assignment
Urias (shoulder) began his formal rehab assignment in the Arizona League on Monday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Urias reportedly touched 94 mph with his fastball, a good sign after the pitch was sitting down in the 88-92 mph range earlier in the month. The lefty got just five outs, though apparently that was due to weather delays. Given the length of Urias' absence, which has lasted longer than a year, expect him to spend several more weeks rehabbing before potentially returning sometime in late August or early September.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Struggles in loss Monday
Maeda (7-6) took the loss Monday after giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings against the Brewers.
Maeda had been downright dominant over his last 10 starts (2.34 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 10.8 K/9), but he hit a roadblock in the form of the Brewers on Monday. The majority of the damage was done on a two-out, three-run homer off the bat of Eric Thames in the third inning, but a high pitch count (102 pitches over 4.2 innings) also contributed to the righty's early exit. Maeda owns a 3.48 ERA through 18 starts, but his career-best 3.13 FIP and 10.9 K/9 are great signs for his fantasy owners down the stretch.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Allows three runs in win over Marlins
Teheran (8-7) allowed three runs on four hits and four walks across five innings to earn the win Monday against the Marlins. He struck out four.
Teheran was touched up for a two-run home run in the first inning and later gave up a run on a hit and two walks in the fifth. He threw first-pitch strikes to 15 of 23 batters but often fell behind in the count as he finished with a middling 64 percent of his pitches for strikes. Luckily, he was spotted a lead in the early going and earned the win despite a lackluster performance. Teheran has now allowed 10 earned runs combined over 9.1 innings since the All-Star break and will look to get back on track this weekend against the Mets.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Eight strong innings in no-decision
Nola tossed eight innings of on-run Ball Monday in a no-decision against the Red Sox, allowing four hits and one walk with six strikeouts.
Nola was dominant through the early innings and gave up his only run on two hits and a walk in the fifth inning. He threw an impressive 70 percent of his pitches for strikes and induced 10 groundball outs to keep one of the league's best lineups at bay. Though Nola didn't earn a win with David Price tossing a gem of his own on the other side, this effort gives him six quality starts in his last seven outings. He'll take a shiny 2.35 ERA and 0.97 WHIP into this weekend's matchup with the hapless Marlins.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Allows four vs. Rangers
Ray surrendered four runs on two hits and four walks while fanning six across 5.1 innings as he didn't factor into the decision Monday against Texas.
Ray was plagued by walks, as he issued free passes to Robinson Chirinos and Delino DeShields in the fifth, which was followed by a three-run blast. Ray would depart in a 4-4 game after tossing 98 pitches (58 strikes). The 26-year-old lefty has had a rough 2018 campaign, accruing a 5.05 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 87 strikeouts over 66 innings, despite putting up outstanding numbers just a season ago. Ray posted a 2.89 ERA and 1.15 WHIP over 162 frames in 2017.

Eric Lauer SP | LAD
Padres' Eric Lauer: Survives five innings
Lauer allowed three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings Monday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.
Despite allowing nine baserunners, the only damage against Lauer came on a three-run home run by Chase d'Arnaud in the second inning. He was able to strand five baserunners with timely outs, and managed to generate 13 swinging strikes despite his low strikeout total. Even with a 5.30 ERA and 1.71 WHIP, Lauer is likely to remain in the Padres' rotation due to a lack of other healthy or quality options, though his value is limited to leagues where any available innings are valuable.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Headed for DL
Martinez (shoulder) will require a stint on the disabled list after suffering a mild right shoulder strain in Monday's outing against the Rockies, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Martinez exited the game in the fifth inning with the trainer after suffering yet another injury. After the game, he underwent an MRI, which revealed a "mild strain", but he just returned from an oblique injury on the same side, so it's concerning that he has had such recurring injuries in a similar area of his body. Given the nature of the injury, Martinez may miss most, if not all of the remainder of the season, though the Cardinals should get a better idea within the next couple days. Austin Gomber, Dakota Hudson and Daniel Poncedeleon are all options to get looks in the rotation while Martinez is on the shelf.
-
Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Tosses solid outing despite no-decision
Anderson surrendered three runs on three hits and three walks while fanning five across six innings as he didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Cardinals.
Anderson gave up a solo homer in the fifth inning and got into a jam in the seventh, as he exited with two runners on base and nobody out -- both would ultimately come around to score as St. Louis tied the ballgame at 4-4. He's been excellent over his past six outings, allowing just seven earned runs through 41.1 innings while recording 40 punchouts. Over that span, he's improved his ERA from 4.23 to 3.57, despite having only two wins to show for it. Anderson will look to keep it rolling in his next appearance, which is slated for Saturday against Milwaukee.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Successful bullpen Sunday
Wainwright (elbow) threw a total of 37 pitches over two simulated innings in a Sunday bullpen session, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The veteran right-hander got plenty of work in, as he also went through the normal warmup routine he'd undergo if he were preparing for a start. Wainwright utilized his full pitch arsenal, but he did not do so at full intensity. He plans to start increasing his velocity and control beginning with his next outing, and a better assessment of whether a September return is realistic is likely to be made within the next two weeks.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Departs game with shoulder strain
Martinez was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain after exiting Monday's outing against the Rockies early.
Things go from bad to worse, as Martinez had just returned from an oblique injury. A timetable for his return will likely emerge following further evaluation.
