Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Lasts three innings in no-decision
Lugo allowed six runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Rockies.
An error to open the second inning put Lugo in the rough spot of having to get four outs at Coors field, which helped build up his pitch count to the point where he had already thrown 72 (just 40 strikes) after three frames. Lugo still has a nasty 20:3 K:BB in three starts since Noah Syndergaard went down with a finger injury, and one rough outing marred by poor defense at the toughest park in the league shouldn't dissuade anybody who was excited about Lugo's potential. He'll take a 2.85 ERA into his next turn Monday against Pittsburgh.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Fans seven in Wednesday's loss
Stripling (6-2) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits over six innings while striking out seven as the Dodgers fell 4-0 to the Cubs.
While the right-hander lost his first game since April 30, Stripling did deliver his third straight quality start and sixth in his last seven outings as he continues to stabilize a Dodgers rotation that's been gutted by injuries this season. He'll carry a sterling 1.99 ERA into his next start Tuesday at home in a rematch with the Cubs.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Next start TBD
Due to Wednesday's postponement against the Pirates, manager Craig Counsell decided to push back the Brewers' rotation, leaving Peralta's next start up in the air for the time being, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Peralta was scheduled to take the mound against the Cardinals for Sunday's series finale, but now Jhoulys Chacin will land in that spot while Brent Suter, Junior Guerra and Chase Anderson each move back a day as well. Since the club has an off day Monday, it's possible that Counsell could elect to move forward with a four-man rotation until a fifth starter is needed next Saturday in Cincinnati. On the flip side, Peralta may be ticketed to toe the rubber Tuesday against the woeful Royals, which would provide the opportunity for a second straight brilliant effort from the 22-year-old. Expect a decision on Peralta's status within the next couple days.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Dealing with potential arm injury
Urena said that he "felt something with his arm" during the sixth inning of Wednesday's start in San Francisco. The club will monitor the situation prior to his scheduled start against the Diamondbacks next week, The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer reports.
Urena wound up tossing 39 pitches in the sixth inning, though Spencer noted that the right-hander's velocity didn't dip at all during that frame. Though that's a positive sign, this is obviously a situation to watch closely over the next few days. Over 15 starts this season, Urena has logged a 4.18 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with a 70:19 K:BB across 88.1 innings.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Yields five in loss
Urena (2-9) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings against the Giants.
Urena breezed through the first five innings, shutting out the Giants on four singles to that point, but the wheels came off in the sixth. The 26-year-old allowed four hits and a pair of walks in the frame, yielding five runs while recording just two outs. He'll take a 4.40 ERA and MLB-high nine losses into Tuesday's tilt against the Diamondbacks.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Hit hard in return
Lucchesi (3-3) was tagged with the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over 1.2 innings against the Athletics.
In his first start back since missing over a month with a hip strain, Lucchesi was hit hard early and often. He yielded a pair of home runs and also struggled with command, with the two walks and a hit batsmen while failing to get out of the second inning. The poor outing ballooned the 25-year-old lefty's ERA over half a run to 3.86. He'll get another chance to shake off the rust and get back on track Monday against the Rangers.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: In line for Saturday start
Teheran (hamstring) will take the mound against Baltimore on Saturday, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
Teheran battled a minor cramping issue in the sixth inning of Sunday's outing versus San Diego, during which he threw six hitless frames while striking out 11. That said, he should be fully healthy and pitch without limitations in Saturday's contest.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Increases throwing distance
Syndergaard (finger) threw from 120 feet with tape on his finger prior to Wednesday's game, Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News reports.
Syndergaard continues to gradually progress from a strained ligament in his right index finger after resuming a throwing program earlier this week. The right-hander played catch Monday and then threw from 75 feet Tuesday before progressing up to Wednesday's distance. He is expected to take Thursday off as a rest day before trying to throw without tape on his finger this weekend.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Likely headed to DL
Wacha (strained left oblique) will get an MRI on Thursday but appears to be headed for a disabled list stint, Mark Saxon of The Athletic St. Louis reports.
The strain was severe enough that breathing caused him pain after he came out of Wednesday's game against the Phillies. He gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out two in 3.2 innings before leaving with the injury. Manager Mike Matheny said Wacha suffered the injury on the last pitch of this outing, FOX Sports Midwest reports. Saxon alluded to the fact that this injury may have cost Wacha a trip to the All-Star game. The righty has a 3.20 ERA, 71 strikeouts and eight wins in 84.1 innings through 15 starts. Austin Gomber, who is currently in the big-league bullpen, and John Gant, who is in the Triple-A rotation, appear to be the best options currently on the 40-man roster to take Wacha's rotation spot. If the Cardinals want to go with someone not currently on the 40-man, Dakota Hudson would be a fine option.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Strikes out nine in rehab start
Ray (oblique) made a rehab start at Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, covering 4.1 innings and giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk. He struck out nine in the outing.
After giving up a pair of home runs over 2.1 innings in his first rehab start at High-A Visalia on June 14, Ray was much better in his second outing on the farm. He pumped in 48 of his 66 pitches for strikes on the evening, with all three of the hits he scattered going for singles. The next step hasn't been revealed yet for Ray, but the Diamondbacks may want to see him build his pitch count up to the 80-to-90 range in the minors before he rejoins the big club. If Ray does in fact require another rehab start, the earliest that he would likely return to the Arizona rotation would be June 29 at Chase Field against San Francisco.
