  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Taking the hill Saturday

Strasburg is set to start Saturday against the Mets after being activated from the paternity list Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Max Scherzer will toe the rubber Friday, and Joe Ross will perform his previously anticipated Sunday assignment. Strasburg is in a good spot to succeed against a so far erratic Mets lineup.

  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

    Dodgers' Julio Urias: Officially recalled

The Dodgers recalled Urias from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

The exciting southpaw will start Thursday and remain with the big club for the foreseeable future. Urias should be owned in every fantasy league possible.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Reinstated from paternity list

Strasburg was reinstated from the paternity list Thursday, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.

The ace right-hander is back with the club after witnessing the birth of his child. We'll let you know when Washington decides to deploy Strasburg next.

  • Zach Eflin SP | BAL

Phillies' Zach Eflin: Will work Saturday

Eflin's next scheduled start is Saturday against the Dodgers, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

The right-hander will duel with Los Angeles right-hander Brandon McCarthy. Eflin has allowed only three runs over his first two starts (12 innings), but his 3.89 FIP and 5.3 K/9 tell a story of negative regression coming for that small sample size. Los Angeles' top-notch offense against righty arms doesn't help that outlook.

  • Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT

Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Moved up to Friday

Eickhoff's next start will come Friday against the Dodgers, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

In his last start Saturday, he threw only five innings, which broke a streak of three straight quality starts to begin the year. In that effort, however, he only gave up one run on two hits and two walks while striking out seven. He's off to a dynamite start this year but will face a tough test in a Dodgers lineup that's excelled against right-handed hurlers this year with a .774 OPS.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Set to start Sunday

Ryu is slated to start Sunday for the Dodgers against the Phillies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

The southpaw carries a 4.64 ERA over his first four starts but made progress Monday, holding the Giants to one run over six innings. As Ryu extends how deep he can go into games, we could see more of the form that excited us during 2013 and 2014. Deep-league fantasy players shouldn't hesitate to start him against Philly.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Undergoing MRI

Syndergaard (biceps) is seeing a doctor Thursday and probably will receive an MRI, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Syndergaard had trouble lifting his arm above his shoulder Wednesday when his biceps stiffened up. If tests come back clear, he could start Sunday at the Nationals, and the pitcher said he aims to do so. His fantasy baseball owners, however, must gather contingency plans if a significant issue is detected.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Could return Sunday

Syndergaard could start Sunday if the rest helps his biceps tendinitis, but he must see a doctor first, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports. The Mets prefer not to place him on the disabled list.

The Mets may not have a choice if the issue lingers. Syndergaard apparently felt discomfort after a recent bullpen session and Wednesday batting practice, Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal reports. Thor's fantasy owners may remain in limbo heading into next week's lineup deadlines.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Has biceps tendinitis

Syndergaard's previously reported "tired arm" has been identified as biceps tendinitis, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

At least there's a specific designation tied to it, but Syndergaard may be in line for a longer absence than his fantasy owners want. He's missing his Thursday start, and we'll have more on this in the near future.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Battling tired arm

Syndergaard has a "tired arm," according to manager Terry Collins, and is scratched from his Thursday start, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Matt Harvey will start in Thor's place against the Braves. Stay tuned for more on Syndergaard's ailment, though he hasn't shown he's been affected much by anything lately, with a 1.73 ERA, a 10.4 K/9 and zero walks in his first four starts. Perhaps the Mets' rain-affected week and subsequent rotation shuffling figures into this development.
