Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Likely to miss one or two starts
GM Matt Klentak said Nola (back) will likely miss only one or two starts, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Nola experienced lower-back soreness during his start Thursday against the Mets. He received treatment, but felt tightness in a side session Sunday. He is eligible to return from the disabled list May 1. Nick Pivetta is expected to take Nola's spot in the rotation while he is sidelined.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Whiffs 11 in masterful performance
Greinke (2-2) allowed one run on six hits while walking none and striking out 11 over six innings in Monday's 7-6 win over the Padres.
Greinke threw 97 pitches in the outing and lowered his ERA on the year to 2.93 in his fifth start. Not surprisingly, the right-hander has allowed just two runs in 14 innings to the Padres in his two starts against them in 2017. In 30.2 innings so far this year, Greinke has struck out 31 and walked just six. Another good sign that he'll bounce back in 2017 is the fact he's allowed just two long balls.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Another mediocre outing Monday
Anderson allowed four runs on six hits while walking one and striking out five over 5.2 innings for a no-decision in Monday's 8-4 victory over the Nationals.
Anderson has been underwhelming in his five starts this season, allowing under four runs just once -- against the lefty-heavy Dodgers. The 27-year-old has an ugly 7.11 ERA and 22:8 K:BB over 25.1 innings. Shaky command and mechanical issues are holding him back at the moment, and he can't be trusted as a streaming option in deeper leagues, especially when toeing the rubber at Coors Field.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Experiences early success
Urena has allowed two runs over eight innings during the first month of the season.
After losing a competition to earn a spot in Miami's starting rotation, Urena has settled into the long-relief role. Nonetheless, his sample size is small, with only three appearances thus far. The 25-year-old posted a 7.52 ERA over 20.1 innings as a reliever in 2016.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Start pushed back to Friday
Maeda's next start has been pushed back to Friday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
The Dodgers expressed a desire to push Maeda's start back so he could work on his pitching mechanics, and manager Dave Roberts confirmed the move Monday. Maeda has struggled mightily in 2017, having allowed 17 runs over 19 innings despite a solid 19:5 K:BB. Julio Urias is expected to slide into Maeda's previously scheduled Thursday slot.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: To throw without bandage Tuesday
Hill (finger) will throw without the bandage covering his blister on Tuesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Hill has been throwing with a bandage for the last few days. This bullpen session will likely determine whether he's ready to go on a rehab assignment. If so, an early May return to the rotation is possible, but given the consistent struggles Hill has had with blisters since last season, it's hard to be optimistic until his return is confirmed.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: To make MLB start Thursday
Urias will start Thursday for the Dodgers, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.
Alex Wood is slated to fill in for the injured Rich Hill on Wednesday, but the Dodgers still have a hole in their rotation. Kenta Maeda was initially expected to pitch Thursday; he'll probably be pushed back to Friday to make room for Urias, but the Dodgers haven't made any official announcements about how they'll reshuffle their rotation.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Will start Tuesday
Marquez will start Tuesday against the Nationals, BSN Denver's Drew Creasman reports.
Marquez is currently in Colorado preparing for his start, but look for the official roster move to take place Tuesday. The right-hander is taking the rotation spot of Jon Gray (foot) and will be making his first MLB start of the season. Marquez has posted a 2.70 ERA and struck out 18 while walking no one over 10 innings at Triple-A Albuquerque to open the season. The 22-year-old uses a heavy sinker to complement his fastball and changeup, and he has a curveball too.
-
Jake Thompson SP | PHI
Phillies' Jake Thompson: Mechanical change paying off
Thompson tossed seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday to earn his first win of the season. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
Thompson allowed 15 runs in his first two starts for Lehigh Valley, but he's allowed just one run over the course of his two most recent appearances. Greg Joyce of The Express-Times reported that Thompson reverted to his old mechanics with an overhead windup in his third start of the season, and that seems to have helped the righty get back on track. He may have fallen behind Nick Pivetta in the pecking order for the next opening in the Phillies' rotation, however.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Lands on DL
Nola was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday with a lower-back strain, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The move comes after Nola struggled (but still picked up the win) against the Mets in his last start, seeing his fastball velocity dip to 90 mph from his normal 92 mph clip. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, but the move is retroactive to April 21, making Nola eligible for activation on May 1 against the Cubs should he be ready. The Phillies haven't hinted at a possible fill-in for Nola while he is sidelined, but it appears Nick Pivetta could start in his place.
