Senga (hamstring) threw an up-and-down live batting practice session Sunday, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.

This marked Senga's first time facing hitters since he suffered a Grade 1 right hamstring strain nearly three weeks ago. His next step is to throw a bullpen session and go through pitchers' fielding practice Wednesday. If he gets through that without any hiccups, he could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. The Mets don't expect Senga back until early on in the second half.

The Marlins transferred Meyer (hip) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The move frees a 40-man roster spot for waiver claim Nick Nastrini. Meyer is out for the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery last week.

The Marlins claimed Nastrini off waivers from the White Sox on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Nastrini has struggled mightily at Triple-A Charlotte this season, posting a 7.51 ERA and 48:39 K:BB over 44.1 innings. He also managed just a 7.07 ERA and 26:36 K:BB in 35.2 frames at the big-league level in 2024. However, Nastrini is still just 25 and was a fairly well-thought-of prospect at one time, so the Marlins felt he was worth a waiver claim.

Williams won't start as scheduled Tuesday versus the Tigers since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

It's already been a week since Williams made his previous start June 24, and he'll get another day of rest before likely taking the mound during Wednesday's doubleheader. The 33-year-old is looking for his first win since May 28, and he has a 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB over 24.1 innings during the winless stretch.

Pivetta's next outing will be pushed back after Tuesday's game in Philadelphia was postponed due to inclement weather.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Wednesday. Pivetta will presumably draw the start in one of those games, but it's not yet clear whether it will be the matinee or nightcap.

Manaea (oblique/elbow) will resume a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.

Manaea was given a cortisone shot one week ago after being diagnosed with a loose body in his pitching elbow and has been cleared to return to game action. It could be the final rehab start he makes before rejoining the Mets' rotation next week. Manaea initially went on the injured list prior to Opening Day due to an oblique strain.

Cubs general manager Carter Hawkins said Tuesday that Horton will have his workload monitored in the second half but does not have a specific innings limit this season, 670 The Score reports.

Horton has thrown 74 innings this season between the majors and minors, which is already 39.2 more than he threw all of last season and only 14.1 innings off his professional high. Expect the Cubs to take steps to manage the rookie right-hander's workload after the All-Star break, but it does not sound like Horton will be completely shut down at any point.

Fuentes' next start has been pushed back to Wednesday's series finale with the Angels, with Grant Holmes moving up a day to start Tuesday's contest, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Though Fuentes will still face the same opponent as a result of the late change in Atlanta's pitching schedule, he no longer lines up for a two-start week, as Holmes is now on track to take the hill for Sunday's series finale with the Orioles. Atlanta has its next off day coming Monday, so the club would have the option of pushing Fuentes to the back of its pitching schedule during the final week before the All-Star break. Fuentes is one of Atlanta's top pitching prospects, but he's had a rough go in his first two big-league starts, giving up 10 earned runs on 14 hits and one walk while striking out four across 8.1 innings in losses to the Marlins and Mets.

Holmes has been moved up a day to start Tuesday against the Angels, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Holmes is swapping spots in the pitching schedule with Didier Fuentes, who will now take the ball Wednesday. As a result of the change, Holmes is now set up for a two-start week, as he'll be in line to take the hill Sunday against the Orioles in Atlanta.
