Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Remains out Saturday
Swanson (quadriceps) remains on the bench as expected Saturday against the Marlins.
Swanson did not appear in Friday's contest due to a sore quadriceps, and he'll sit Saturday as well. He could still start Sunday's game, though the Braves may elect to have him well-rested heading into the break. Johan Camargo will start again at shortstop.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Homers in extra-inning win
Arcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs scored and a walk in a 7-6 victory over the Pirates on Friday.
Arcia's 12th home run this season came on a first-pitch shot to right field in the seventh inning, and after the Brewers blew a five-run lead in the bottom of the ninth, Arcia legged out an infield single in the 10th inning before coming around to score the game's go-ahead run. While the shortstop is on pace to set a career high in home runs, a disappointing .239 batting average and a surprisingly below-average defensive performance have prompted the Brewers to utilize late-June callup Tyler Saladino more prominently in the past two weeks. While Saladino's versatility in the infield will likely keep him on the major-league roster for the foreseeable future, it's possible the Brewers could split playing time between the young shortstops evenly, at least until one or the other gets hot at the plate.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Pops seventh homer
Turner went 3-for-7 with a solo home run in Friday's extra-innings loss to the Royals.
He led off the bottom of the first inning with his seventh homer of the year, but Turner's efforts at the top of the order didn't generate any more offense the rest of the night. The shortstop is heating up heading into the All-Star break, slashing .306/.368/.452 with two home runs, five steals, six RBI and 11 runs over his last 14 games.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Pulled from rehab assignment
Berti (oblique) has been pulled from his rehab assignment due to a hamstring strain, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
Berti was looking at possibly returning shortly after the All-Star break, but this issue will push him back indefinitely. Depending on the severity of the strain, Berti may not be able to resume his rehab before August.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Resting sore quad
Swanson is out of the lineup Friday due to quadriceps soreness and is likely to sit Saturday as well, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
The goal seems to be to get Swanson rested up to play in Sunday's first-half finale. According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Swanson was dealing with some discomfort in his quad Thursday when he homered twice as part of a three-hit effort -- a good sign that it's nothing too serious. Johan Camargo is filling in at shortstop.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Set to begin rehab assignment
Seager (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday.
Three weeks and a day after he landed on the injured list with a hamstring strain, Seager is ready to return to a live setting. The shortstop hit in a sim game Tuesday and manager Dave Roberts left open the possibility of Seager rejoining the major-league team later this weekend, but the Dodgers are in first place by a mile and it would be a surprise to see him back before the All-Star break. Seager's hit .278/.359/.468 with eight homers in 66 games so far this season.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Receives breather Friday
Swanson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins.
Swanson started the last five games and went 11-for-23 with four doubles, two home runs, five runs scored and six RBI, but he'll nonetheless receive the day off Friday. Johan Camargo will start at shortstop and bat eighth in his stead.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Smacks first homer
Rojas went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.
After going yard 11 times last season, he finally hit his first home run of 2019 to lead off Thursday's game. Despite the lack of over-the-fence power, Rojas has been able to tally extra-base hits, including eight doubles over the last 16 games. His potential for run production is limited at the top of a lackluster Marlins lineup, but he's shown off his speed this year with six stolen bases.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Plates pair in win
Edman went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in a win over the Mariners on Thursday.
The rookie was situated at the top of the order once again and delivered his fourth and fifth RBI over the last two games. Edman is slashing an impressive .300/.317/.600 over his first 41 big-league plate appearances and has now logged starts in five of the last seven games.

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Pirates' Pablo Reyes: Returns from injury
Reyes (ankle) was activated off the 7-day injured list Thursday and went 0-for-3 with a run scored and a walk for Triple-A Indianapolis.
Reyes landed on the IL after suffering the ankle injury in mid-June and rejoined Indianapolis after a three-game rehab assignment with Low-A West Virginia. The 25-year-old has a .250/.294/.482 slash line with five home runs in 32 games at Triple-A.
