The Padres recalled Jacob from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Jacob was sent down to Triple-A at the end of August after throwing 4.2 shutout innings in three appearances, and he'll now rejoin the big-league bullpen following Jason Adam's (quad) move to the injured list. Although his most recent showing in the majors was successful, Jacob's 5.40 ERA through 30 innings will likely limit him to low-leverage work.

The Padres placed Adam (quad) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Adam was diagnosed with a ruptured tendon in his left quadriceps after being carted off the field during Monday's game against Baltimore. Although the Padres haven't offered an official timeline, the 34-year-old's injury will likely end his season. Alek Jacob was recalled from Triple-A to help replenish San Diego's bullpen depth.

O'Hearn isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

O'Hearn will get a day to rest Tuesday after going 11-for-40 (.275) with an RBI and five runs scored across his last 10 contests. His absence will allow Gavin Sheets to serve as San Diego's designated hitter while batting fourth.

Iglesias isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Iglesias has been filling in for Xander Bogaerts (foot) at shortstop recently, but the former will get a day off Tuesday while Mason McCoy starts and bats eighth.

Tatis (lower body) will start in right field and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Orioles, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Lower-half tightness caused Tatis to be a late scratch from Monday's lineup, but a day of rest has him feeling better and ready to play Tuesday. The 26-year-old has been less productive than usual recently, slashing .231/.348/.385 with five RBI and seven runs scored across his last 10 games.

Burnes (elbow) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Tuesday and will throw another later in the week, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

The right-hander is working his way back from an elbow strain and appears to be on the cusp of returning to game action. If Burns comes out of his two sessions this week with no issues, and he could then head out on a rehab assignment before potentially rejoining the Reds in the second half of September.

Cruz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Cruz has gone 3-for-19 with four walks and a homer in six games since coming off the injured list last week, and he'll take a seat for Tuesday's series opener versus Los Angeles. Alexander Canario will instead start in center field and bat sixth versus Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw.

The Diamondbacks recalled Kaiser from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old spent the past couple weeks with Reno but will join the Diamondbacks on Tuesday as Lourdes Gurriel (knee) lands on the injured list. Kaiser is likely to operate as a utility infielder while up in the majors.

Schmitt (elbow) is not in San Francisco's lineup Tuesday in Colorado.

Schmitt is dealing with an elbow injury that he suffered on a hit-by-pitch in Monday's series opener versus the Rockies. He stayed in the game for one batter but was ultimately lifted for a pinch runner. Despite X-rays returning negative Monday, Christian Koss is serving as the starting second baseman and batting eighth Tuesday.

The Diamondbacks optioned Burgos (forearm) to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Burgos was pulled from Monday's game after taking a comebacker off his right forearm in the ninth inning. X-rays on his forearm came back negative after the game, but he'll now head down to the minors and rehab his injury. Taylor Rashi was recalled from Reno to fill the open bullpen spot.
