Smith went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Friday's 18-1 loss to the Astros.

Smith was the only Dodger to put together a successful effort at the plate against Houston's pitching duo of Lance McCullers and Jason Alexander. It's been a strong stretch of late for Smith, who has gone 14-for-37 (.378) with six homers and seven RBI over his last 12 games. The catcher is at a .330/.433/.564 slash line with 12 homers, 45 RBI, 44 runs scored, two stolen bases, 15 doubles and one triple over 69 contests.

Casparius (6-3) allowed six runs on nine hits and struck out three over three innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Friday.

Casparius had made his last two appearances as a bulk reliever behind Shohei Ohtani. His return to a starting role didn't go any better than his last turn out of the bullpen, as the Astros tagged Casparius for three home runs. He's now yielded seven long balls on the year while adding a 4.68 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB across 59.2 innings through 26 appearances (three starts). Casparius continues to provide multi-inning abilities for the Dodgers as they put together a patchwork solution for their rotation. With Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) nearing a return and Emmet Sheehan expected to be called up to pitch Sunday, it seems like Casparius is on borrowed time to stay in the rotation.

DeSclafani will start Sunday's game against the Royals at Chase Field, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The 35-year-old righty has made four appearances out of the bullpen since joining Arizona in mid-June, but he'll make his first start of the season Sunday. During his time in the bullpen, DeSclafani logged a 4.82 ERA through 9.1 innings, but he could be in position for a bounce-back outing against a Kansas City offense that owns a .666 OPS on the season (26th in MLB). Though he's worked three innings or fewer out of the Arizona bullpen, DeSclafani should be able to provide a little bit of length beyond that Sunday after tossing six innings in his final start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the Yankees organization on June 10 prior to being granted his release from his minor-league deal.

Baty went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

The 25-year-old infielder cracked his ninth home run of the season and his first since June 14. With Mark Vientos continuing to struggle -- he owns a .636 OPS in 2025 -- the door remains open for Baty to settle into a strong-side platoon role at third base going forward. Even so, Baty hasn't performed much better at the plate this year, as he's slashing just .224/.275/.410 with seven doubles, two triples and 29 RBI over 223 plate appearances.

Treinen (forearm) is scheduled to throw to hitters Saturday, and his following step could be a minor-league rehab assignment, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Treinen first threw to live hitters Wednesday and is lined up to throw one simulated inning Saturday. If all goes well in that session, his next appearance on the mound could take place in a minor-league game. Treinen hasn't pitched in a contest since April 13, so he'll presumably need to make multiple rehab outings before he's ready to return to the Dodgers' bullpen.

Snell (shoulder) is slated to throw to hitters Saturday, and his following step could be a minor-league rehab assignment, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Snell first threw to live hitters Wednesday and is slated to pitch two simulated innings Saturday. Though that doesn't represent much of a ramp-up, manager Dave Roberts indicated Friday that the left-handed hurler could head out on a rehab stint if he doesn't experience any setbacks in the upcoming throwing session. Snell's last game action took place April 2, so he will probably need several rehab starts before he's ready to be activated from the injured list.

Garrett picked up the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Yankees, allowing one hit and no walks in two scoreless innings. He struck out one.

With closer Edwin Diaz having worked each of the prior two days, Garrett was able to record the final six outs of Friday's game for his third save of the year. Garrett should remain a high-leverage arm moving forward -- he has 14 holds this season -- although save chances should be harder to come by when Diaz is available out of the bullpen. Garrett has blown five save opportunities in 2025, and he also has an 11.25 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB over his last eight innings.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that it's "very feasible" Glasnow (shoulder) will be activated from the injured list to return to the rotation during the team's next road trip, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Glasnow has been on the IL for over two months due to a right shoulder injury, but he's completed three rehab outings with Triple-A Oklahoma City, with his most recent start lasting 4.1 innings and 78 pitches Thursday. The right-hander thus seems ramped up enough to rejoin the Dodgers' rotation, though he may be on some sort of a pitch count in his first start or two back. If Glasnow is indeed activated next week, the most logical date for his return is Friday, July 11, in San Francisco.

Bummer will serve as the opening pitcher in a bullpen game for Atlanta in Saturday's matchup with the Orioles, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Atlanta has an opening in its rotation after Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow) landing on the injured list earlier this week, but the team won't immediately turn to a traditional starter to replace him. Instead, manager Brian Snitker plans to lean on a group of relievers to get the team through Saturday's contest, with Bummer leading off the proceedings in what will be his first MLB start and his first in the professional ranks since 2017. Bummer made 2.2- and 2.1-inning appearances in his last two relief outings, so he could be capable of working once through the Baltimore lineup before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Vasquez settled for a no-decision Friday after working six strong innings while allowing two runs on three hits and three walks during Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers. He struck out one.

This is the eighth straight start that Vasquez has pitched to a no-decision. Part of it is because the 26-year-old has failed to go deep enough into the game to qualify for a win much of the time, but that wasn't the case Friday as he made it through six innings for just the second time since June 1. The right-hander struck out only one batter, but with a season high of five on the season, that's never really been his game. Vasquez is scheduled to make his next start at home against the Diamondbacks.
