Sheehan struck out 13 batters over six perfect innings Wednesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

This was a statement start from Sheehan in Sacramento, as he was optioned down last week after a strong four-inning outing for the big club. He won't be eligible to be recalled until the middle of next week, but the Dodgers don't have an off day from July 1 through July 9, so they could find a spot to use him. Sheehan threw 123.1 innings in 2023 before needing Tommy John surgery in May 2024. He has logged 21.1 innings thus far in 2025 between the majors and minors.

Gorman will start at designated hitter and bat seventh in Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

It's the second day in a row that Gorman has started against a left-handed pitcher, and he's been in the lineup 15 times across the Cardinals' last 17 contests. The 25-year-old has posted a .919 OPS with four home runs and 10 RBI over that stretch.

Harper (wrist) could be activated from the 10-day injured list Monday when the Phillies begin a homestand, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Harper took 75 swings off a high-velocity pitching machine Thursday and is slated to hit outside on the field Friday. He could face live pitching after that. While it sounds like Harper will not be activated over the weekend in Atlanta, he appears poised to skip a rehab assignment and return early next week if he continues to trend in the right direction.

Pintaro gave up two runs on two hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning in Wednesday's win over Atlanta. He struck out one.

Making his big-league debut, Pintaro entered in a low-leverage spot with the Mets ahead 7-1 and struggled to find the plate, tossing 16 of 29 pitches for strikes. Some nerves were to be expected from the 27-year-old righty, and New York will likely give him another chance or two to help bolster a fraying bullpen before churning his roster spot for a fresh arm.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Nootbaar was unavailable Wednesday and again Thursday after receiving a pain-killing shot to combat an intercostal injury, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

It explains why Nootbaar is absent from the lineup for a second straight day Thursday. The Cardinals are optimistic that they caught the injury early and expect Nootbaar to be ready to return to the lineup Friday when they begin a road trip in Cleveland.

Lopez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI in Wednesday's extra-inning win over the Giants.

The 26-year-old infielder came through with one of the game's biggest hits, bringing home Nick Fortes in the top of the 10th inning to break open a 4-4 tie and spark a four-run rally for the Marlins. Lopez has been locked in at the plate of late, slashing .347/.389/.367 over the last 12 games with five runs, seven RBI and a steal, but Wednesday's double was his first extra-base hit of any kind since June 9.

Conforto is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado.

The lefty-swinging Conforto homered in each of the first two games of the series, but he'll take a seat in the finale as the Rockies send southpaw Austin Gomber to the hill. Enrique Hernandez will cover left field and bat eighth as the Dodgers go for the sweep.

Muncy is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado.

The left-handed-hitting Muncy doesn't always sit out versus lefty pitching, but he'll begin Thursday's tilt on the bench as the Rockies send southpaw Austin Gomber to the bump. Miguel Rojas will handle third base and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

Snelling allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings for Double-A Pensacola on Wednesday, striking out seven without issuing a walk.

The 21-year-old southpaw seems to have turned a corner since a rough stretch in late April and early May in which he walked 13 batters over 9.2 innings. Over six starts since then, Snelling has compiled a much tidier 35:5 K:BB in 35.1 innings, along with a 2.80 ERA and 0.93 WHIP. He's knocking on the door of a promotion to Triple-A, and given the injuries that have wracked the Marlins' rotation, a big-league debut in 2025 can't be ruled out if he continues to display improved control and command.

Mervis has been placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Jacksonville with an oblique strain, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Mervis has dealt with the injury for a couple days and didn't improve enough to avoid the IL. He's slashed .246/.309/.623/.932 with six home runs in 16 games with Jacksonville after being removed from the Marlins' 40-man roster.
