The Padres optioned Reynolds to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Bryan Hoeing (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. Reynolds posted a 4.15 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings with the Padres, though he did not give up a run in nine of his last 10 outings. He should get another call to the majors this season if/when the Padres need some bullpen depth.

Hoeing is available to make his 2025 debut against the Royals on Saturday after recovering from the right shoulder strain that he suffered in February. He did not yield a run over his last three rehab outings with Triple-A El Paso, and it was enough for him to be given the green light to return to the Padres' bullpen. Hoeing was acquired by the Padres from the Marlins in July of 2024, and across 18 regular-season games with San Diego, he posted a 1.52 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB across 23.2 innings.

Carroll (hand) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Carroll will sit out a third consecutive game after taking a pitch off his hand Wednesday. Manager Torey Lovullo said before Friday's contest that the star outfielder is "very close" to returning, so a trip to the IL doesn't seem imminent, though that could change if he doesn't rejoin the starting nine soon. Randal Grichuk will start in right field Saturday and bat fifth.

Kranick (elbow) was diagnosed Saturday with a right flexor strain following an MRI and won't throw for the next 3-to-4 weeks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Kranick was placed on the injured list Thursday, but the extent of his injury wasn't known until the results of his MRI are read. Given that he'll be shut down from throwing for the next three weeks, Kranick is safe to rule out through the All-Star break.

Taylor isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Taylor will take a seat Saturday after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's series opener. Jeff McNeil will cover for him in center field while Ronny Mauricio starts at the keystone.

Reyes signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Reyes elected free agency Friday after being DFA'd by the Yankees, and he won't have to travel far to join his next organization. The 31-year-old infielder slashed .194/.242/.226 over 34 plate appearances during his time in the Bronx and will report to Triple-A Syracuse to begin his tenure with the Mets.

The Mets recalled Zuber from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Zuber has been in the minors all season, putting up a 6.08 ERA and 1.64 WHIP through 23.2 innings. Despite his poor minor-league performance, the Mets will rely on him to make up for the departures of Blade Tidwell and Justin Garza, both of whom were optioned to Syracuse on Saturday.

The Mets recalled Devenski from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Devenski has given up two earned runs in three big-league innings this season, but he'll be called upon to help make up for the departures of Blade Tidwell and Justin Garza to Syracuse. Devenski will likely be limited to low-leverage situations while with the big club.

He'll head back to Triple-A to clear a rotation spot in preparation for Frankie Montas' (lat) upcoming return from the injured list Tuesday, though the Mets will first bring up Chris Devenski and Tyler Zuber to provide extra depth in the bullpen.
