Giants' Willy Adames: Out three to four weeks
Adames got a second opinion on his elbow Thursday and is expected to miss three to four weeks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The plan for Adames is to rest, rehab and get a PRP injection. The shortstop landed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 24 due to a sprain in his left elbow. He faces the possibility of being shut down for the rest of the season, as the Giants are not in the playoff picture. If he returns, it wouldn't be until the final weeks of the regular season.

Giants' Willy Adames: Lands on 10-day IL
Adames was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a left elbow sprain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Adames picked up the injury during Sunday's series finale against Boston, and it'll cost him at least the next 10 days. The Giants will presumably turn to Christian Koss and Osleivis Basabe at shortstop while Adames is on the mend. The club has classified Adames' injury as a moderate sprain, and he'll likely need longer than the 10-day minimum before being activated, per Rubin.

Adames suffered a left elbow injury in Sunday's contest against the Red Sox, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Adames was removed from the game in the fifth inning, and the belief is that he sustained the injury in the first inning while sliding awkwardly into home plate. The 30-year-old finished his day having gone 1-for-3, and he's notched at least one hit in nine of his last 11 contests, batting .333 with three home runs, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base over that stretch. The Giants should have better idea of the severity of the injury after Adames gets a more thorough examination.

Adames was removed from Sunday's game against the Red Sox due to an apparent lower-body injury, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The veteran shortstop made an awkward slide into home plate during the first inning, and while he initially remained in the contest, Adames was replaced in the field for the bottom of the fifth. Adames went 1-for-3 with a run scored before departing the contest and should be considered day-to-day for now.

The shortstop is down to a .221 average and .693 OPS on the year, and he's added 19 homers, 48 RBI, 58 runs scored, 24 doubles, one triple and four stolen bases over 111 games. While the OPS is on track to be the worst of his career, Adames is one long ball away from reaching 20 for a sixth straight season.
