Steer was removed from Sunday's game against the Cardinals in the fifth inning due to an apparent right hand injury, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. He went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts prior to his departure.

Steer was unable to continue his at-bat in the top of the fifth after his hand seemed to be bothering him when he fouled off a pitch. Edwin Arroyo came on to pinch hit for Steer, who can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's game against the Guardians until the Reds provide an update on his condition.

Baker earned the save in Sunday's 1-0 victory over the Guardians, tallying a strikeout and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.

Baker is up to 28 saves (in 31 chances) this season, good for the second most in the majors. The right-hander has been stellar of late, allowing just one run in his last 22 innings. Baker's ERA now sits at a sparkling 1.56 across 40.1 innings this season with a 0.84 WHIP and 43:13 K:BB.

The Astros recalled Ullola from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Houston demoted Kai-Wei Teng to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for Ullola, who will join the big club for the second time this season after striking out seven over four scoreless innings in two appearances during his first stint in the majors. Ullola had earned his way back to Houston after striking out nine over 5.1 perfect innings in his last six relief outings at Sugar Land.

Rasmussen (9-5) earned the win Sunday over the Guardians, allowing one hit and one walk across seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

A Steven Kwan double to lead off the game proved to be the lone hit given up by Rasmussen on Sunday as he blanked Cleveland in an eventual 1-0 victory. In two starts since the All-Star break, Rasmussen has given up just two runs on eight hits across 12 frames after allowing 11 runs in just 7.1 innings in his final two outings of the first half. Overall, Rasmussen's ERA sits at 3.07 through 20 starts (111.1 innings) this season with a 0.93 WHIP and 112 strikeouts. He's tentatively lined up to face the White Sox at home his next time out.

Petersen was lifted from his relief appearance during Sunday's game against the Padres due to a right forearm contusion, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Petersen came on in relief of starter Janson Junk with two outs in the fourth inning and threw just two pitches before he was nailed by a grounder off the bat of Ty France. Marlins catcher Joe Mack gathered the loose ball and threw to first base to record the final out of the inning, but Petersen retreated to the locker room immediately after the play and wasn't available to return for the top of the fifth. Petersen has now made early exits from two of his last five relief appearances, as he was previously lifted from a July 12 contest against the Guardians due to a hamstring injury before getting a clean bill of health coming out of the All-Star break.

The Brewers recalled Stallings from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.

The right-hander made the first two appearances of his big-league career in early July, firing three scoreless innings with a 4:1 K:BB. Stallings is taking the roster spot of Lance McCullers and should fill a low-leverage relief role.

Carpenter was lifted from Sunday's game against the Royals after four innings due to an apparent injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. He went hitless in two at-bats prior to his departure.

The Tigers should provide an explanation for Carpenter's early exit later Sunday, but McCosky notes that the 28-year-old appeared to be in some discomfort following a swing in the bottom of the fourth. Carpenter had previously sat out a game Tuesday due to a bruised heel, though it's unclear if his removal from Sunday's contest is related to that injury.

The Giants optioned Beck to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The right-hander was called up from Sacramento on Tuesday and pitched in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Angels, giving up a run over two innings of relief. Beck has a 6.39 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB across 12.2 frames in the majors this season.

Lopez will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Lopez will pick up a fourth straight start and his second in a row at the keystone in the penultimate game of the series versus Seattle. With Josh Jung (calf) recently joining Corey Seager (back) on the injured list, Lopez should at least temporarily have a path to an everyday role in the Texas infield. Since signing with the Rangers in late May, Lopez is batting .326 over 135 at-bats but has provided limited production in most other categories (one home run, four stolen bases, 16 RBI and 15 runs).

Springs was lifted midway through the second inning of his start Sunday against the Twins due to an apparent injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. He was charged with five runs (four earned) on four hits and one walk across 1.1 innings.

After recording just four outs on 36 pitches, Springs was pulled from Sunday's series finale in the middle of an at-bat against Austin Martin. Luis Morales came on from the bullpen to replace Springs. The Athletics will likely provide an update on the nature and severity of Springs' injury later Sunday.
