Thompson (illness) did not participate in the Mavericks' Saturday morning shootaround, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports. Thompson is currently listed as questionable for Saturday night's game against the 76ers due to left knee soreness, but his absence from the morning shootaround indicates that he is leaning toward the doubtful side of playing. Max Christie, Naji Marshall and D'Angelo Russell would be in line for more minutes off the bench if Thompson is ruled out.

Thompson is questionable to play Saturday versus the 76ers due to left knee soreness. Thompson has missed two games this season due to soreness in his left knee, but if he sits Saturday, it would be his first time doing so without a back-to-back set being involved. If Thompson is ruled out, there would be more minutes available for D'Angelo Russell, Caleb Martin and Naji Marshall.

Thompson registered five points (2-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), one rebound and two assists over 19 minutes during Thursday's 116-114 overtime victory over the Pistons. Thompson continues to trend in the wrong direction for Dallas, and it's no wonder he's been linked to a move elsewhere. Naji Marshall is gaining steam as a fit alongside Cooper Flagg, and Thompson's minutes have suffered. Over his last 10 games, Thompson is averaging 22.2 minutes per contest and he's shooting 40.5 percent from the field.

Thompson (knee) is available for Friday's game against the Nets. Thompson sat out the second half of a back-to-back Saturday due to knee soreness, but after a few days off, he'll be ready to go. He's coming off a dud in his last appearance, finishing with three points in 18 minutes against the Thunder.

Thompson (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Rockets, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. Thompson is dealing with left knee soreness and will miss the second leg of Dallas' back-to-back set. His next opportunity to play will come Friday against the Nets. With the veteran sharpshooter unavailable, Naji Marshall, Caleb Martin and Max Christie are candidates for an uptick in minutes, especially if P.J. Washington (ankle) remains on the shelf.
