Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said Friday that he expects that Antetokounmpo will need closer to four weeks to recover from his strained right calf, Jamal Collier of ESPN.com reports. "I feel like we should learn is with calves -- make sure they're healthy," Rivers said. "So that may take longer than we want. That even may make Giannis frustrated over it, but we just got to try to get that right." After suffering the injury in Wednesday's win over the Pistons, Antetokounmpo was initially given a loose recovery timetable of 2-to-4 weeks, but he looks like he'll remain out for the longer end of that projections. The good news is that due to the NBA Cup, the Bucks have only seven games over the next three weeks. Jericho Sims, Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis are all candidates to receive increased minutes in the frontcourt with Antetokounmpo sidelined, and Ryan Rollins and Kevin Porter should both take on increased usage out of the backcourt in the absence of the nine-time All-Star.

Antetokounmpo (calf) is expected to be sidelined for two-to-four weeks, ESPN's Shams Charania reports Thursday. An MRI taken Wednesday night confirmed a right calf strain for Milwaukee's franchise player. The Bucks have ruled out any concerns with Antetokounmpo's Achilles, so the franchise will be able to breathe a bit following this news. If Antetokounmpo is able to return at the front end of this timetable, he would miss at least five games. However, it's likely that the team proceeds with extreme caution, given the nature of this injury and his murky future with the team. In the meantime, guys like Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis and Jericho Sims will have an opportunity to step up.

Antetokounmpo is set to undergo an MRI on his injured right calf Wednesday night, but head coach Doc Rivers believes that the Bucks' medical staff has ruled out an Achilles injury, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. The early diagnosis of Antetokounmpo's injury is a "calf strain," but we'll have a better understanding of exactly what he's dealing with after the MRI results are released. The good news is that Antetokounmpo appears to have avoided a much more serious Achilles injury, but a calf strain can still result in a multi-game absence. If Antetokounmpo does need to miss some games, it'll be Kevin Porter and Ryan Rollins running the show on offense, and there will be more minutes available for guys like Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma.

Antetokounmpo has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against Detroit due to a right calf strain, the team announced. Antetokounmpo went down with a non-contact injury that is currently being called a right calf strain. The superstar forward will likely continue to undergo testing leading up to Friday's game against Philadelphia. Antetokounmpo logged two points (2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist over three minutes before exiting. Look for Bobby Portis, Kyle Kuzma and Jericho Sims to take on larger roles while Antetokounmpo is sidelined.

Antetokounmpo limped back to the locker room after sustaining an apparent non-contact leg injury during Wednesday's matchup versus Detroit, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Antetokounmpo began to run back on defense and quickly went down to the floor in visible pain. The injury appeared to be to his right leg, but specifics are uncertain at this point. While Antetokounmpo is off the floor, Bobby Portis, Kyle Kuzma and Jericho Sims could see more minutes.
