  • Sabonis closed Friday's 104-88 loss to the Clippers with 24 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 40 minutes. After missing the prior two games due to back tightness, Sabonis appeared to be fully healthy in his return and reeled off his 13th straight game with a double-double or better. The 28-year-old center has seen his distribution numbers fall off a bit with DeMar DeRozan in the lineup, but he's averaging career highs in points (20.4), threes (1.0) and field-goal percentage (63.0 percent) to begin the season while supplying 12.7 boards and 6.4 assists per contest.

  • Sabonis (back) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Clippers. Sabonis will return to game action after a two-game absence due to lower back tightness. With the big man and DeMar DeRozan (back) both off the injury report, Alex Len and Trey Lyles should shift back to their normal roles off the bench. Sabonis has averaged 20.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists while shooting 64.1 percent from the field across 36.5 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings.

  • Sabonis (back) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Sabonis has missed Sacramento's previous two contests due to lower back tightness. However, the star big man's return to practice is a good sign of his availability for Friday's game versus the Clippers.

  • Sabonis (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hawks, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Sabonis will miss his second consecutive outing due to lower back tightness, though he has been cleared for individual on-court activities and is nearing a return, according to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. Trey Lyles and Alex Len are both candidates for an increased role until Sabonis is able to come back. The star big man's next chance to suit up will come Friday against the Clippers.
