  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Ready for rookie year
    By RotoWire

Brown (rest) is primed for a significant role ahead of his rookie season in 2026-27. The Nets chose Brown with the No. 6 overall pick in this year's draft, so they likely have big plans in mind for the 20-year-old guard right away in 2026-27. Brown, who averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 three-pointers per game over four Summer League appearances, is lined up to share Brooklyn's starting backcourt with Egor Demin.

  • Nets' Mikel Brown: Resting Sunday
    By RotoWire

Brown (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League game against the Thunder, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. Brown will take a seat for Brooklyn's Summer League finale. The rookie No. 6 overall pick appeared in three Las Vegas Summer League games, averaging 16.7 points, 4.0 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 22.5 minutes per contest.

  • Brown finished with 14 points (3-15 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal across 27 minutes in Thursday's 100-83 Summer League loss to Houston. Brown recorded his lowest-scoring total in three Las Vegas Summer League appearances. He also shot less than 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from deep for the first time during that stretch. Still, it's been a mostly positive summer for the 20-year-old rookie. Although Brown is expected to have his share of struggles during his inaugural campaign, he should still receive more than enough opportunities to produce right away.

  • Brown (rest) logged 16 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block over 19 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over the Kings. Brown was held out of Saturday's game against the Hawks due to rest purposes but was back in action Tuesday, when he finished second on the Nets in assists and as the team's third-leading scorer behind Egor Demin (22 points) and Drake Powell (18 points). Brown was the sixth-overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, but his playing time could be inconsistent in his rookie season given the number of young guards on the Nets' roster such as Demin, Powell, Ben Saraf and Nolan Traore, as well as fifth-year pro Keon Ellis.
