  Walsh never saw the floor in Tuesday's 120-117 home win over the formerly undefeated Cavaliers. The second-year pro now has three DNP-Coach's Decisions for the young season. Granted, Boston has a loaded roster, which will only get deeper when Kristaps Porzingis (foot) returns in December or January. Walsh might need some trips to the G League Maine Celtics to enjoy some extended run and remain ready to go for Boston. The 20-year-old Walsh has averaged nine minutes per contest when he does play. His next chance to see the floor occurs Friday at Washington.

  Walsh will come off the bench for Tuesday's preseason game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. After resting their starters Sunday against Toronto, the Celtics will be close to full strength Tuesday evening. Walsh has made a strong impression in the preseason so far, averaging 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 three-pointers across four games.

  Walsh will start Sunday's preseason game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Walsh will be the beneficiary of Boston resting the majority of their key players for the second half of a back-to-back set. Walsh played well in his previous preseason appearance, posting 11 points, two rebounds and an assist in 12 minutes of action Saturday.

  Walsh won't start Game 1 of the opening-round series against the Heat on Sunday. With Boston resting its usual starters, Walsh made his first career NBA start during the regular-season finale and posted one point (0-2 FG), three rebounds, two steals and an assist in 17 minutes during a win over Washington. The rookie spent most of the season in the G League and isn't expected to be part of the Celtics' postseason rotation.

• Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Recalled to NBA

  Boston recalled Walsh from the G League's Maine Celtics on Friday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Walsh posted 18 points (6-9 FG), nine rebounds, two steals and a block in 35 minutes during Maine's 119-112 win over the Delaware Blue Coats during the G League playoffs on Thursday. He'll provide depth for the NBA club Friday night, but Walsh is expected to rejoin Maine ahead of Sunday's semifinal matchup against Long Island or Osceola, who face off Friday night.
