Mara put up 17 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-12 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists and five swats over 33 minutes in Monday's 113-110 preseason loss to the Hawks. Mara got some extended run with Oklahoma City resting their entire starting lineup and some key reserves, and he came through with his first double-double of the preseason. Mara is loaded with upside, so he'll make for an intriguing plug-and-play option on the days the Thunder rest their stars.

Mara amassed 22 points (10-10 FG, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 25 minutes in Wednesday's 128-126 preseason loss to the Bucks. After posting 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting along with nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the front end of this back-to-back set, Mara remained highly productive Wednesday. The rookie big man led all players in scoring and showed off his ability as a lob threat while shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the field. Although the 21-year-old has impressed in the preseason thus far, he figures to face significant competition for minutes during the regular season.

Mara recorded 12 points (5-5 FG, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 18 minutes in Tuesday's 116-110 preseason loss to the Pelicans. Oklahoma City's No. 12 overall selection from the 2026 NBA Draft is loaded with upside, but he'll have a tough time finding consistent minutes while Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein are healthy. That said, he could make for an intriguing plug-and-play option on the nights the Thunder opt to rest some of their vets.

Mara is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports. The Thunder are resting several key rotation members, meaning Mara will get the nod at center. The rookie was the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and will battle Jaylin Williams for the backup center role behind Isaiah Hartenstein, so a strong preseason will be key to winning that gig.

Mara registered 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-7 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and one block in 25 minutes during Spain's 108-106 loss to Greece in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier. Mara led the club in boards Monday and scored an efficient 15 points. Although the prospect of a larger role diminished once Isaiah Hartenstein re-signed with the Thunder this offseason, the door is still open for Mara to have an impressive camp and seize an Opening Night role. The rookie No. 12 overall pick is set to battle with Jaylin Williams for the backup center gig.
