The Jazz waived Bazley (illness) on Wednesday. Bazley signed a multi-year, non-guaranteed deal with Utah in March and appeared in six games for the Jazz in 2023-24, averaging 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per game. However, the 2019 first-round pick doesn't fit into Utah's future after a disappointing performance during Summer League. The Jazz also waived Kenneth Lofton on Wednesday.

Bazley (illness) is out for Sunday's Summer League game against the Pistons, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Bazley is officially out for Sunday's bout against the Pistons, becoming the sixth player ruled out on the Jazz for their Summer League finale. Bazley should be good to go for training camp, but he faces an uphill battle for a spot in the rotation come the regular season.

Bazley supplied 12 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals across 23 minutes during Friday's 110-109 win over the Clippers. Bazley ended as one of six Jazz players with a double-digit point total to go along with a handful of rebounds and a team-high-tying pair of steals in a balanced outing off the bench. Bazley matched a season high in scoring, a total he also accomplished April 5 against the Clippers. Bazley has recorded at least eight points and five boards in four outings this year.

The Jazz recalled Bazley from the G League's Salt Lake City Stars on Wednesday. With Salt Lake's G League season coming to a close Tuesday with a loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs, Bazley will spend the rest of the 2023-24 campaign in the NBA. However, the 23-year-old forward has yet to make an appearance for the Jazz.
