Sonny Weems: Signs with Israeli team
Sonny Weems signed a two-year guaranteed contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel on Wednesday, international basketball reporter David Pick reports.Weems spent the last four seasons overseas in Lithuania and Russia before inking a two-year deal with the Suns this past offseason. He lasted just 36 games with the Suns before getting waived and joining the 76ers in March, who later waived him after seven games. The 29-year-old finished with averages of 2.5 points (on 38.2% shooting), 1.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists over 11.6 minutes during his two stops, numbers that didn't exactly have many other NBA teams interested in taking a flier on him. His contract with Maccabi will likely include an out clause for him to return to the NBA if another club expresses interest in him, but it's very possible we've seen the last of Weems in the league.

76ers' Sonny Weems: Plays nine minutes Tuesday
Sonny Weems went scoreless (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) while committing one turnover in nine minutes during the Philadelphia 76ers' 131-114 loss to the Nets on Tuesday.Through two appearances with the 76ers, Weems has seen 17 total minutes. The team has a lot of point guards, but coach Brett Brown has shown a willingness to pair two of them together in the backcourt. Ish Smith and Isaiah Canaan continue to start and T.J. McConnell and Kendall Marshall come off the bench, so heavy minutes might not be in the cards for Weems.

Sonny Weems: Possibly headed to Philadelphia
Sonny Weems is expected to be claimed off waivers by the 76ers, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.Weems, who was waived by the Suns on Saturday, could provide depth to the Sixers backcourt after the team previously sacrificed Jakarr Sampson's roster spot following a botched three-team trade at the deadline. Suns' Sonny Weems: Scores season-high 12 points
Sonny Weems scored a season-high 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two rebounds, and one assist across 23 minutes in Tuesday's 113-103 loss to the 76ers.Injuries to Brandon Knight (groin), Eric Bledsoe (knee), and Ronnie Price (toe) have forced Archie Goodwin and Devin Booker into starting roles, leaving Weems as one of the few backcourt options left available on the bench. He'll likely continue to hold down a rotation spot for the foreseeable future, though don't expect him to crack double digits in the points column with much regularity.
