Nate Robinson: Signs with Israeli team
Nate Robinson agreed to a contract Monday with Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel, according to international basketball reporter David Pick.Robinson appeared in two games with the Pelicans in October, but was released after the team decided to pursue other options at point guard on the waiver market. After failing to attract interest from any other NBA teams as a bench scorer, Robinson, a former defensive back with the Washington Huskies for one season in college, recently said that he was entertaining a possible football career, but he'll ultimately opt to stay with his current sport. He'll likely finish out the season in Israel before looking to earn a tryout opportunity with another NBA squad in training camp next fall.

Pelicans G Nate Robinson waived by Pelicans
Guard Nate Robinson has been waived by the New Orleans Pelicans.Appearing in just two games for New Orleans Privateers, Robinson averaged 2.0 assists and 0.5 steals. With the return of guard Jrue Holiday to the lineup, Robinson's role would've been very restricted had the team kept him around.

Pelicans' Nate Robinson: Will draw the start Tuesday
Nate Robinson will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's season opener against the Warriors, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo reports.Jrue Holiday is being held out for rest, so Robinson moves into the starting lineup to take his place. With Holiday sitting this game out and reportedly being on a 20-minute restriction for the start of the season, Robinson should continue to get plenty of game action. There's a very good chance Holiday returns for Wednesday's outing with the Trail Blazers, which will then push Robinson back into a bench role.

Pelicans' Nate Robinson: Tallies 18 points Wednesday
Nate Robinson collected 18 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), a rebound, and two steals over 26 minutes in Wednesday's 110-107 loss to the Magic.Robinson's recent meteoric rise on the point guard depth chart due to injuries to Tyreke Evans (knee) and Norris Cole (ankle) has landed him as the primary backup to a minutes-restricted Jrue Holiday to start the regular season, meaning that the veteran should be the recipient of a healthy heaping of court time. He enjoyed a productive tune-up for his new expanded role with a very strong night from the field, and particularly from beyond the arc. The 31-year-old had actually put together productive outings in his other two preseason contests prior to Wednesday, but his elevated level of play against the Magic was surely a welcome sight to a New Orleans Pelicans squad that will count on him rather heavily in the early going of the 2015-16 campaign.

Pelicans' Nate Robinson: Backs into larger role
Nate Robinson is in line for unexpected minutes at the onset of the regular season with injuries to Tyreke Evans (knee), Norris Cole (ankle), and a minutes restriction on Jrue Holiday.Currently Robinson and Holiday are the only point guards on the New Orleans roster with legitimate NBA experience, and with Holiday being restricted to just 15 minutes per game until January, Robinson will likely have significant value in the early goings of the 2015-16 campaign. Typically in the past he's proven his ability to score, dish out assists, garner steals, and convert from beyond the arc.
