  • Al Horford C | GS

Celtics' Al Horford: Out once again vs. Toronto

Horford (rest) has been ruled out of Sunday's preseason game against the Raptors, Jay King of The Athletic reports.

Horford has yet to appear in the preseason, but coach Joe Mazzulla said he expects him to play in the team's preseason finale at Toronto on Tuesday. The veteran will likely compete for the starting spot at center with Luke Kornet (rest) until Kristaps Porzingis (foot) returns.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Out for remainder of preseason

Embiid (rest/knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the preseason, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.

Following a meeting with doctors on Thursday, Embiid has been shut down from game action and will focus on an individual treatment plan to prepare for the regular season. The former MVP has yet to play during the preseason but is reportedly progressing well in his ramp-up process. The 76ers open the regular season against the Bucks on Oct. 23, so Embiid has over a week to clear the final medical hurdles before suiting up.

  • Kings' Orlando Robinson: Ruled out Sunday

Robinson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's preseason game against the Trail Blazers, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Robinson is dealing with a left knee injury that has kept him off the court for the entirety of the preseason. The severity of the injury is unclear, though the 24-year-old's next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Jazz.

  • Luke Kornet C | SA

Celtics' Luke Kornet: Another strong performance

Kornet amassed 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 18 minutes during Saturday's preseason win over the 76ers.

Kornet continues to play well as the fill-in starter, flirting with a double-double in just 18 minutes. With Kristaps Porzingis (foot) slated to miss up to two months of action and Al Horford dealing with age limitations, Kornet could be an intriguing streaming consideration, even in standard formats. Whenever Horford is given the night off, Kornet's familiarity with the offense and fantasy-friendly skill set could make him worth a pick up for short stretches.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Makes two-way impact Saturday

Edey registered 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks across 22 minutes in Saturday's 124-121 preseason win over the Bulls.

Edey has shown glimpses of his talent in the preseason, and while a final decision hasn't been made yet, it seems he'll open the 2024-25 campaign as the starting center due to his two-way impact. If Edey starts, he should have plenty of fantasy upside as a young player capable of making his presence felt on both ends of the court.

  • Zach Collins C | CHI

Spurs' Zach Collins: Struggles in spot start Saturday

Collins recorded 11 points (4-13 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, an assist and a steal across 20 minutes in Saturday's 126-120 preseason win over the Jazz.

Collins got the start at center without Victor Wembanyama (rest), and while the veteran posted solid numbers, he struggled with his shot a bit. Collins is expected to operate as Wembanyama's backup once the regular season begins, but in that role, his upside should be very low.

  • Joel Embiid C | PHI

76ers' Joel Embiid: Uncertain to play vs. Atlanta

Embiid (rest) is uncertain to play in Monday's preseason game against the Hawks, head coach Nick Nurse told Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "I don't know yet. I'll let you know," when Nurse was asked Saturday about whether Embiid would join the team in Atlanta.

Embiid has yet to feature in the preseason, and given that the 76ers have been extremely cautious with their star player, it wouldn't be surprising if he's ruled out again. If Embiid remains out, Nurse will continue to take an extended look at the 76ers' frontcourt depth of Guerschon Yabusele, Andre Drummond and Adem Bona.

  • John Collins PF | LAC

Jazz's John Collins: Won't play Saturday

Collins (rest) has been ruled out of Saturday's preseason matchup versus the Spurs, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.

Collins will miss another outing due to rest, and it is unclear how much game action he will see prior to the start of the regular season. The 27-year-old's next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against the Kings.

  • Al Horford C | GS

Celtics' Al Horford: Not in uniform Saturday

Horford (rest) is not in uniform and won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the 76ers, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.

Horford won't play in this preseason contest, and it's unclear when he'll next see the court. Boston will play another preseason contest Sunday against the Raptors. The Celtics open their regular season against the Knicks on Oct. 22.

  • Zach Collins C | CHI

    Spurs' Zach Collins: Starting Saturday

Collins is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Jazz, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Collins will make his preseason debut in this contest with Victor Wembanyama (rest) out. Collins is expected to operate as the backup center once the Spurs open their 2024-25 regular season on Oct. 24 against the Mavericks.
