Wizards' Alex Sarr: Won't play in SL finale

The Wizards ruled Sarr out for Saturday's Summer League game against the Bucks.

It doesn't appear that Sarr is dealing with an injury considering he is one of seven prominent players taking a seat for Washington's final Summer League contest. The No. 2 overall pick struggled on the offensive end in Vegas but flashed the rim protection and defensive versatility that makes him such an intriguing prospect at seven feet tall.

  • Moses Brown C | DEN

Lakers' Moses Brown: Back to full strength

Brown registered nine points (3-6 FG, 3-6 FT), four rebounds and one steal in 14 minutes during Thursday's 93-89 Summer League win over the Cavaliers.

Brown missed the first half of the Lakers' back-to-back due to an illness but returned to action a day later. The 24-year-old center appeared in 22 games (five starts) for Portland last year but doesn't have a regular-season deal for 2024-25.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Back in action after minor illness

Wembanyama (illness) posted 14 points (3-8 FG), 10 rebounds and three assists during France's exhibition loss to Serbia on July 12.

Wembanyama missed France's previous exhibition versus Germany on July 8 but returned to action a few days later. While Nikola Jokic got the better of Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert in the tune-up game, France's fearsome frontcourt is expected to wreak havoc at the Paris Olympics in late July.

  • Balsa Koprivica: Rights sent to Utah

The Jazz acquired the rights to Koprivica from the Clippers as part of Thursday's Russell Westbrook-Kris Dunn swap, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.

Koprivica was drafted with the 57th overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Pistons, and then his draft rights were later traded to the Clippers in 2023, so this is the third time he's been traded despite never playing in the league. It seems unlikely that he'll be leaving his team in Serbia any time soon.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Shooting woes continue Thursday

Sarr finished just 1-of-6 from the floor for two points over 28 minutes, adding 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in an exhibition win over the Kings on Thursday.

Sarr has been ice cold in Las Vegas, converting just 19.1 percent of his shot attempts through his first four games in Summer League. His first, and only, bucket Thursday didn't come until the closing minute of the first half, and he then proceeded to chuck up another three donuts after halftime. On the plus side, he added 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block, so while his offense is certainly a work in progress, Sarr has been able to show he can steadily provide defensive stats.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Scores 11 points with three blocks

Missi went 5-of-8 from the floor and 1-of-2 at the line Thursday, tallying 11 points, six rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one turnover across 30 minutes in an exhibition loss to Memphis.

Missi hadn't been terribly impressive through his first three outings in Las Vegas, but he showed some promise Thursday with his instincts as a rim defender. He also exhibited some nice footwork in the post. Missi is an impressive athlete, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of role he can earn in New Orleans during his rookie season.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't return Thursday

Edey went back to the locker room after tweaking his right ankle during Thursday's exhibition in Las Vegas, and he will not return.

Edey landed on another player's foot after attempting to block a shot and rolled his ankle, although he was able to walk off the court under his own power. He may have been able to return had this been a regular-season game, but there's no reason to push it during an exhibition contest. Edey looked solid while on the court, hitting all three of his shots on his way to six points, three rebounds and one block over nine minutes.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Will play Thursday

Edey (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's Summer League matchup against New Orleans.

Edey hasn't played since tweaking his ankle at the Salt Lake Summer League, but he'll be making his Las Vegas debut Thursday. He shouldn't have any minutes restrictions, and the fact that he's suiting up for an exhibition game suggests that his ankle is fine.

  • Lakers' Colin Castleton: Stuffs stat sheet in SL

Castleton logged 17 points (8-9 FG, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals across 24 minutes of Wednesday's 87-86 win over Atlanta in Summer League.

Castleton flashed his versatile skill set, dishing out six assists while posting a double-double. The second-year pro did turn the ball over five times, but he led the Lakers in scoring, and four of his 12 rebounds came on the offensive glass. Castleton served on a two-way contract last season for the Lakers and averaged 3.7 minutes across 16 regular-season NBA appearances.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't miss all of SL

Edey (ankle) didn't play in Wednesday's 104-98 win over the Magic but is expected to return before the end of Summer League, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.

Edey sprained his ankle during Salt Lake City Summer League and hasn't suited up in a little over one week. The Grizzlies have indicated the injury is minor, and they're just being cautious with the ninth overall pick. Still, the expectation is that he'll be back before Summer League ends. Edey's next chance to play will be Thursday against New Orleans.
