  • Moses Brown C | DEN

    Lakers' Moses Brown: Battling illness

Brown won't play in Wednesday's Summer League game against Atlanta due to illness, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

Brown is feeling under the weather and will sit out the opening leg of a back-to-back set for the Summer League Lakers. The 24-year-old's next chance to play will come Thursday against Cleveland.

  • Spurs' Charles Bassey: Returning to San Antonio

The Spurs signed Bassey (knee) to a one-year, $2.2 million contract Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Bassey made just 19 appearances for the Spurs in 2023-24 before suffering a torn ACL. While he is expected to return in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, Bassey will likely compete for depth minutes in San Antonio's frontcourt.

  • Trail Blazers' Donovan Clingan: Flirts with double-double

Clingan totaled eight points (4-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in 25 minutes during Monday's 97-95 Summer League win over the 76ers.

Clingan had plenty of chances in the paint but was unable to capitalize, hitting only 36.4 percent of his tries from the field. However, he continues to be a menace on the defensive end, swatting away three shots after a five-block performance Saturday against San Antonio. Clingan's battle for playing time will continue Tuesday against the Wizards.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Sitting again Monday

Edey (ankle) won't play in Monday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.

Edey will miss another contest while tending to an ankle issue, as there's no reason to rush him back into action for Summer League. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday against the Magic.

  • Nuggets' DaRon Holmes: Set for Achilles surgery

Holmes announced via social media that he's scheduled to undergo surgery Monday to repair his torn right Achilles' tendon.

The first-round draft pick out of Dayton suffered the injury in his first appearance for the Nuggets on Friday in the Las Vegas Summer League. He'll face a lengthy and arduous recovery process from surgery and is expected to miss the entire 2024-25 season, and his availability for Summer League in 2025 could also be affected. The Nuggets had been hopeful that Holmes would slot in as their top backup to Nikola Jokic during the upcoming season, but Dario Saric, Peyton Watson, DeAndre Jordan and Zeke Nnaji now look to be the top contenders to fill frontcourt minutes on the second unit.

  • Adem Bona PF | PHI

76ers' Adem Bona: Inks four-year deal with Philly

Bona agreed to a four-year, $8 million contract with the 76ers on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Selected with the 41st overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Bona will now be assured a spot on the 76ers' 15-man roster to open the season after signing with the club. The contract comes after the UCLA product has gotten off to a strong start to the Summer League, averaging 6.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in 22.7 minutes through four games. Though he's shown promise thus far, Bona will be hard pressed to open the season as a member of the 76ers' rotation after the team signed Andre Drummond earlier in the offseason to presumptively slot in as Joel Embiid's backup.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Lackluster performance Sunday

Sarr recorded eight points (4-14 FG, 0-5 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 29 minutes during Sunday's Summer League game against the Rockets.

The offensive struggles continue for Sarr, who has shot just 30.7 percent from the floor across two Summer League appearances. Despite the offensive woes, the second overall pick provided value with solid interior defense once again Sunday, tying for a game-high two blocks.

  • Trail Blazers' Donovan Clingan: Blocks five shots

Clingan produced four points (1-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal and five blocks in 27 minutes during Saturday's 83-77 Summer League loss to the Spurs.

After being expected by many to be drafted among the first few picks, Clingan fell to No. 7 in the 2024 NBA Draft, and the Trail Blazers happily scooped him up. Clingan has a 7-foot-2 frame and is an elite shot blocker, but his path to playing time won't be easy with the likes of Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams standing in his way early on.

  • Kel'el Ware C | MIA

    Heat's Kel'el Ware: Drops 17 points

Ware produced 17 points (7-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 25 minutes during Saturday's 119-114 Summer League win over Boston.

Ware came into this outing with a ton of hype after averaging 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in his previous two Summer League outings. His path to fantasy value is obstructed by the presence of Bam Adebayo, but Ware has the potential to run away with the backup center role.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Game-high four blocks in win Friday

Sarr tallied 12 points (4-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal across 32 minutes in Friday's 94-88 win over the Hawks in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.

Sarr has been touted as an athletic big with the potential to block shots at an elite level, and he displayed this ability in the Summer League opener with a game-high four swats. The 19-year-old struggled from the field overall in the highly-anticipated matchup against No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher. However, Sarr stuffed the stat sheet and went an efficient 2-of-5 from deep. The No. 2 overall pick played for Perth in the NBL during the 2023-24 season, and he averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks across 17.3 minutes while shooting 29.0 percent from deep.
