  • Knicks' Ariel Hukporti: Signs two-way deal with NYK

The Knicks signed Hukporti to a two-way pact on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

The final pick of the 2024 Draft secured a two-way deal with the Knicks, and he will likely spend most of his time with their G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks. Hukporti played overseas with Riesen Ludwigsburg in the German Bundesliga and spent time in the Australian NBL in 2023-24. Across 43 games in both leagues in 2023-24, the 22-year-old averaged 8.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks across 17.7 minutes per game.

  • Charles Bassey: Waived by San Antonio

The Spurs waived Bassey (knee) on Monday, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Bassey's release was a necessity after the team acquired Harrison Barnes via trade and signed Chris Paul. However, the team could look to bring the 23-year-old back if he clears waivers. Bassey's 2023-24 season was cut short in December by a torn ACL, but he made 19 appearances prior and averaged 3.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 blocks across 10.8 minutes per game.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Absent in loss Monday

Wembanyama (ankle) missed France's 70-65 exhibition loss to Germany on Monday due to an illness, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.

Wembanyama was sidelined for France's loss as they prepared for the Paris Olympics. In two exhibitions thus far, the 2024 Rookie of the Year averaged 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks across 19.5 minutes. His stellar play proves he's moved past the ankle injury that sidelined him for the Spurs' final regular-season game. Wembanyama could return as soon as Friday against Serbia; however, there is no rush as France does not begin play in the Olympic Games until July 27 versus Brazil.

  • Pelicans' Daniel Theis: Joining Pelicans

Theis and the Pelicans agreed to a one-year deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Theis will be entering his eighth NBA season and will bring valuable veteran leadership to the locker room. With the Pelicans losing Jonas Valanciunas, Theis could potentially step into a sizable role right away in the frontcourt. Throughout his career, Theis holds averages of 7.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.9 blocks.

  • Kel'el Ware C | MIA

Heat's Kel'el Ware: Shines in Summer League

Ware recorded 26 points (12-21 FG, 2-5 FT, 0-2 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists and a block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 102-86 win over the Kings in the California Classic Summer League.

Ware was dominant for the Heat's Summer League team Sunday, recording game-high marks in points and rebounds. The 15th overall pick has averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game across his first two Summer League outings, showing clear flashes of upside.

  • Cody Zeller C | HOU

Hawks' Cody Zeller: Included in Dejounte Murray deal

Zeller has been included in the deal that sent Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.

The Pelicans sent the veteran big man to the Hawks for salary-matching purposes. Zeller made 43 regular-season appearances off the bench for New Orleans in 2023-24, averaging 1.8 points and 2.6 boards per game.

  • Paul Reed C | DET

76ers' Paul Reed: Being released by Philly

The 76ers plan to waive Reed on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Reed is currently on a non-guaranteed contract, and Philadelphia plans to waive the big man to open up more cap space. The 25-year-old had a career-best year due to Joel Embiid missing significant time, during which Reed averaged 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks across 19.4 minutes in 82 regular-season games.

  • Kai Jones C | DAL

Clippers' Kai Jones: Lands non-guaranteed deal

Jones (ankle) agreed to a non-guaranteed deal with the Clippers on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The Clippers declined Jones' team option in late June, but he'll rejoin the team and compete for a roster spot ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. The 23-year-old won't participate in Summer League play due to an ankle injury, and it's unclear whether he'll have limitations when training camp rolls around.

  • Adama Sanogo PF | CHI

Bulls' Adama Sanogo: Inks two-way deal with Chicago

Sanogo agreed to sign a two-way contract with the Bulls on Wednesday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.

After going unselected in the 2023 NBA Draft, Sanogo spent the 2023-24 season on a two-way deal with the Bulls and appeared in only nine regular-season NBA games. The 23-year-old will remain on a two-way pact for 2024-25 and will likely spend most of his time in the G League when the Bulls' frontcourt is at full health.

  • Kai Jones C | DAL

    Kai Jones: Battling ankle injury

Jones won't participate in Summer League due to an ankle injury, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Jones became an unrestricted free agent when the Clippers declined to pick up his team option June 29, and he'll miss out on the opportunity to showcase his abilities in Summer League. Instead, the 23-year-old will have to rely on what he put on tape during two games with the 76ers' G League affiliate to garner interest on the open market. In those two games, Jones averaged 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks over 23.9 minutes.
